60s Flashback - Spirit I guess it's about time to talk about this sadly overlooked 60s band again...
...focusing on their first four albums which included all the original members. Spirit - (1968) The Family That Plays Together - (1968) Clear - (1969) Twelve Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus - (1970) Randy California - guitar Ed Cassidy - drums Jay Ferguson - keyboards Mark Andes - bass John Locke - keyboards Randy "California" was the 2nd guitarist when Jimi Hendrix was doing his Jimmy James and The Blue Flames stint at the Cafe Wha in Greenwich Village. When Chas Chandler asked Hendrix to go to England, Jimi wanted Randy to go along. However Randy's parents said no (probably because he was only 15/16). ...Fresh Garbage ...Mechanical World ...Taurus (Notice any similarities to an overplayed Led Zep tune? Spirit did it first.) ...I Got A Line On You (Nice pic of the old Fillmore East marquee and part of the Ratner's Deli sign) ...Dark Eyed Woman ...New Dope In Town ...Mr. Skin ...Nature's Way tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

I'm a big fan, though there are a lot of gaps in my collection. They get my vote for most overlooked band of the 60s. I Got a Line on You & the entire Sardonicus album are my personal favourites.
