OMG... I just watched "Unsung" on TvONE about Phyllis Hyman..... and I went to Best Buy today and found a Best of CD but the line was too long sad

A few years ago I was playing in a band and the singer wanted to cover this. I was not familiar with the song, and when I heard it, I was like.....this is WAY TOO complicated for us to learn by ear.

Well, the singer didn't give up and we did learn it.....and this song is really amazing.

Years earlier, I had the privilege of seeing Ms. Hyman perform at the Blue Note and sat in front of the stage and interacted with her a bit. She was so sweet.

A true angel with an amazing gift. Now she is singing in Heaven.

We miss you Phyllis.

Probably my favorite from her. It really takes me back to late '91/early '92.

Phyllis used to babysit me back in Miami, circa 1974. An angel, indeed.
