That's the man! Played a few shows with him too at Lila Eule...a really nice bloke!

The thing about James Brown for me is that as much I like to think of myself as pretty much having a hell of a lot of what he released, there'll always be some track you haven't heard before that will make your jaw drop...even when I first got into him many years ago (yeah, usual thing of hearing "Sex Machine" at the age of 13 and getting a "Greatest Hits"), I recall hearing "Dead On It" in a record shop and had to know what album it was from, so excited I was by it!

I'm also sad to get very worked up about each successive Volume release of the Singles series...can't wait for Volume 6!

The story is true, unfortunately. That's not the only time he abused her. Lyn Collins got her beatings, too.
But that doesn't reduce the power of his musical legacy.
