The thing about James Brown for me is that as much I like to think of myself as pretty much having a hell of a lot of what he released, there'll always be some track you haven't heard before that will make your jaw drop...even when I first got into him many years ago (yeah, usual thing of hearing "Sex Machine" at the age of 13 and getting a "Greatest Hits"), I recall hearing "Dead On It" in a record shop and had to know what album it was from, so excited I was by it! I'm also sad to get very worked up about each successive Volume release of the Singles series...can't wait for Volume 6! | |
