Associated Press' Top Ten of 2008 - Guess who's number 1!

Associated Press has unveiled its Top Ten Albums of 2008, and it’s a bit of doozy.

Take that any way you want.

The list includes everything from two releases both named “Fearless,” to the year’s top-selling CD, to a CD that’s not released until Tuesday.

1. Erykah Badu, “New Amerykah Part One: 4th World War”
2. Estelle, “Shine”
3. Sia, “Some People Have Real Problems”
4. Kanye West, “808s & Heartbreaks”
5. Jazmine Sullivan, “Fearless”
6. Lil Wayne, “Tha Carter III”
7. Taylor Swift, “Fearless”
8. Anthony Hamilton, “The Point of It All”
9. My Morning Jacket, “Evil Urges”
10. Mariah Carey, “E=MC2

Honorable mentions: N.E.R.D., “Seeing Sounds”; Katy Perry, “One of the Boys”; Al Green, “Lay It Down”; Pink, “Funhouse”; Lizz Wright, “The Orchard”

are they on crack? The Mariah cd? sure it had one or two less "filler" songs than MIMI, but the fact that still half the cd was bad filler. Taylor Swift? Lil Wayne? and the Anthony Hamilton cd is not that good a big letdown

poor, unimaginative list. US-centric and lacking in genuine quality.

Isn't the Associated Press a U.S. based organization?

I think so. I know Reuters is based in the UK.

Any list from this year that doesn't have Cyndi Lauper, Coldplay, Alanis or Grace Jones on it is a J-O-K-E.

Yo, I know I am late but I heard this album last night, it's slammin'

I think the only song I had heard from it was "American Boy" which was a little annoying after awhile, but this album is on some Lauryn Hill schitt (should be, Wyclef and John Legend contributed).

I actually heard an outtake from this album that was really good too, produced by Waajeed.

The tracks by Will.i.am (hit or miss with me, usually too contrived for my tastes) are good!
