I got this email about a girl named Betty (music group)

I got this email today about a girl named Betty. Actually, Betty is a music group out of New York that I first saw perform at San Diego Gay Pride 1995. I've seen them a few times since, and love them a bunch. I first thought them a cross between Vanity 6 and Manhattan Transfer. Anyway, they've got a new album coming out next year - here's some more info about what the group has been up to. (Shocking to find out that Elizabeth, too.)

Happy Holidays, Friends!

We hope you have a wonderful celebration and a great new year. BETTY
has been hard at work in the studio, recording our next album for
release Spring 2009. It sounds fantastic and we're really really
excited, which is great because it has been a supremely challenging
year.

To our horror, Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has
been fighting it aggressively with intense chemotherapy and surgery.
It has made it impossible for her to perform, although she is sounding
great in the studio. Through the entire battle, she has kept her sharp
sense of humor and deepened her capacity for feeling. We are extremely
proud of her.

... so you better as hell buy the record next year or the guilt will
haunt you forever.

Please hug someone you love today. Be kind to a stranger. Forgive
someone. Adore yourself.
We can't wait to see you out on the road again, sometime soon!

xo BETTY
