Jamie Foxx - Intuition

Has anyone heard this garbage? This man is 41 years old and still singing about making women jump out of their drawers. This album sounds like something that The Dream or any other 20-something would be doing.

I agree, another bad album... My expectations weren't high though.

I thought the lyrics were bad on the last album so I'm not surprised to hear this. Sounds like more of the same stunted R&B mess.

Personally, I don't think he is capable. He cannot sing to save his life. Now, he can play the hell out of the piano, but is lacking in the vocal department. Like I said earlier, this boy is 41 years old and still singing these immature lyrics. Sad, sad.

i think we all know what Jamie is capable of, but the kids 2day don't care nothin about musicians and instruments. Seems like the only time we can hear Jamie get down is whenever he plays a musician in a film like Ray or next spring's The Soloist...

I don't care for him either. He's too winey for my taste.

Thank you for stating this. I remember when he came out years ago and when I heard the last album I was like confuse He doesn't sound like that live. Sounds like he's going off key or something. I figured he was using the autotune.

I was listening talk about the tracklisting. Damn near every song has a "featuring" confused

I say this all of the time, but the average person shoots me down. I have posted this on radio boards as well as here and have been shot down. However, I still stand my ground saying he can't sing.

When I bought his last album, I listened to the song he dedicated to his grandmother and I noticed how out of tune the song really was. I'm not sure if that was because he may have been crying, or if he just can't sing. After seeing him live several times on television, I have come to the conclusion that he sux as a singer.

Why does anyone give him cred to begin with? Because he played "ray" and did a good job? His albums from the get go were tyical crappy RB male bullshit, "i wanna do you, drop your drawers etc...etc..." and now desperation has struck with him and his label that they have paired him with eveyone to try and squeeze a hit ringtone out of it.

People will have you questioning your ear and your sanity with their comments. I couldn't believe when he got that TV special. Of all the people, why him? And had the audacity to include that live rendition of Love Changes with MJB like that was a bonus. Two people both sounding off.

not possible he is basically a wanna be R Kelly, i dismissed him first album first listen as being anything more, and i cant stand R to begin with.

Well, I think Jamie has always wanted to be a singer and lucked up being a comedian and actor. He released an album in the mid-90s and it didn't do silver. I think he is a decent piano player, but needs to leave the vocals to the talented people.

Not the worst Album, far from the best. Funny thing is I Downloaded it using my free Zune Subscription and listened while cleaning the house.

Nothing sticks in your mind. Very standard, kind of a lame John Legend knockoff with a couple of uptempo tracks up front. I liked the Mary J. duet Love Changes from the first album but this one has nothing that sounds like a hit.

Unpredictable was NOT his first album. Peep This was his debut album in 94.

Unpredictable was his 2nd album. After he won the Oscar and got critical acclaim for his role in Ray, that's when Arista / J offered him a deal. Before that, Fox Records (which I think is now owned by Universal) dropped his ass so fast. I remember his single, "Infatuation" getting lots of play here in Dallas (because his hometown is 30 minutes east of Dallas). Other than that, the album did nothing. It wasn't a bad album, compared to his 2nd album. His first album was more Brian McKnight than hip-hop.

Regardless, the boy is not a true singer. What I don't get is why is he not a pretty decent songwriter. He can play almost anything on the piano. He has a really good musical ear.

Well then, since Foxx cannot SING, who in your estimation is a an example of a male who CAN sing? Just curious...

Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, MJ, Al Green, Gerald Levert, James Ingram, Phillip Bailey, George Michael, Johnny Gill, Jeffrey Osborne, Sam Cooke, Donny Hathaway, and Freddie Jackson are some of my all-time favorites. If you want to get more up-to-date, I enjoy Wayne Brady, Trey Songs, Jaheim, John Legend (at times....he tends to oversing), Ne-Yo (not the best singer, but he's ok), Robin Thicke, JC Chazez (formerly of N'Sync), Usher, Eric Benet, Brian McKnight and Raphael Saadiq (he's not a "singer's singer" either, but the boy knows how to write songs that compliment his voice).

I tend to enjoy people that have a pure tone in their voice. Even if they are singing the "shit-hop" r&b, they still have a special tone in their voice.
