Lonnie Smith & Lou Donaldson - "Midnight Creeper" I was scouring youtube looking for a classic clip from this album...
Midnight Creeper (1968) ...and didn't exactly find any, but I did come across this one: Dr. Smith on the keys and Lou on the sax. I only know of Smith's work with Donaldson. Any clue me into more?

Good stuff Rip!
While not as well known as Hammond players like Jimmy Smith, Jack McDuff, Jimmy McGriff, etc., he's part of the old-school B-3 masters. When George Benson went solo (leaving another B-3 expert, Jack McDuff ), Lonnie Smith was part of his quartet. If you can get hold of this... ...Drive, grab it. (the pre Dr./turban/beard version) More with Lou Donaldson ...Whiskey Drinking Woman ...Afrodesia Dr. Lonnie Smith along with another B-3 favorite, Joey DeFrancesco... ...Someday My Prince Will Come from the PBS series Legends of Jazz (Hosted by Ramsey Lewis) An interesting sidebar... ...is that he's done two Jimi Hendrix tribute albums tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 [Edited 12/16/08 20:08pm] "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. My pleasure. We should start some type of movement/union/cooperative or something. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."
