The guy ONLY has a handful of albums. I don't get it. Neither do i. AND they are amongst the most common in the world. It's crazy, I've never bought one of his 'modern' compilations and never will. At this stage true fans just want new material, or unreleased stuff. (i'm wanting unreleased MOTOWN stuff more than anything else personally) MJ has zero integrity, another greatest hits in this vein, i'd consider a slap in the face. Terrible news if this is true.

The guy ONLY has a handful of albums. I don't get it. Desperate fans perhaps? People like to place the blame on Michael and Sony for the constant releasing of his old hits, but obviously more than 10 people keep on buying these re-releases. Look at the Thriller 25 album--the number one catalog album of 2008, and it sold very well, even outselling some of the current new cds that were released this year. Alot of fans complained about T25 and called it crap, but even more fans went out and bought the thing. Sony wouldnt keep releasing these kinds of greatest hits sets of they werent selling. Sony has found that Michael's greatest hits do pretty well--all they have to do is find a new creative way to repackage the GH package and make it look like something cool (whether it be remixes by Akon, Fergie, Kanye, etc) or little snippets of interviews with Quincy, or some fancy picture booklet w/rare pictures or release the songs as DVD singles (i.e. Visionary box set) put it out there and people lap it up! And most of these people who keep buying it are fans--so fans have mostly themselves to blame for this. Until the MJ Fan community comes together and makes a stand as a whole to NOT buy anymore re-releases (thus putting money into Sony's pocket,) then the re-releases will probably continue. But I doubt MJ fans will do anything like that--even the ones who say they wont buy another GH package usally end up caving in and buying it [Edited 12/17/08 13:31pm] MJ L.O.V.E: https://www.facebook.com/...689&type=2 / YOUTUBE: http://www.youtube.com/us...nderSilent

I didn't buy Number Ones (three different covers), Ultimate Collection, or Essential Michael Jackson 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 however many editions that one had. I wouldn't be lining up for this Ibido one either.

Ultimate Collection box set actually has a few rare songs that would lure me into getting it. Compilations like Number Ones, Essential Michael Jackson, or this Ibibo one they are planning are completely useless.

Again, it was more about the heavy vinyl it was pressed on, plus remixes to play at parties. It's not like Thriller is otherwise hard to find on vinyl. [Edited 12/17/08 14:19pm]
