besides soul holiday by sounds of blackness
the only one i can think of is "christmas won't b the same" by the jackson 5 man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

"The Christmas Song" by Nat 'King' Cole "Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt I never heard these two songs until the late 90s when I heard them on a Clear Channel R&B station geared towards white people. The black stations in my area never played those two when I was growing up (I don't know why because they are great songs) and I don't think I've heard them to this day on the black stations in my area. As for original tunes from black artists.
What Christmas Means To Me -- Stevie Wonder (beloved for decades, finding a wider audience every year, a modern-day classic) This Christmas -- Donny Hathaway (like WCMTM, one of the best modern original Christmas tunes) Another Lonely Christmas -- Prince and the Revolution Blue Christmas (To Whom It May Concern) -- Miles Davis Spirits Past -- Gil Scott-Heron As for renditions by black artists: The Christmas Song -- Nat "King" Cole Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town -- The Jackson Five (the definitive version) Rudolph, The Red-Nosed Reindeer -- The Temptations (often imitated and appropriated, never duplicated) Winter Wonderland -- Shirley Horn (lovely, merry, sublime) God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen -- Smokey Robinson & The Miracles/What Child Is This -- Vanessa Williams (tie) Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016
Props will be withheld until the showing and proving has commenced. -- Aaron McGruder
