BOTH female recording artists are from 2 different generations of the music industry and BOTH are still active today.

i think it sort of speaks for itself. after 25 years in the industry, lasting longer than her contemporaries, at 50 still being the one person that everyone trys to pit the younger 'girls' against; i think Madonna has pretty much secured her legacy. there were a couple of articles, 1 which was in Q magazine that said, even if Madonna stopped recording today, that no other female artist could achieve what she has. and that is NOT to say that the other women aren't hard working. it's just giving credit to where it's due.

The comparison threads must stop.

Neither. Tina Turner is...she's damn near 70 and still touring. Let's see if Madonna and Beyonce can keep it up for that long.

Again not a fair comparison. Two different eras. Madonna's accomplishments are almost 20 yrs older than Beyonce's. She's working for her bread and butter now more than for art's sake. Madonna doesn't have the same musical talent as Beyonce but she's the much better showman (show woman) even when she was starting out. A fair compensation for her not being as vocally talented. Also she didn't have the Pro Tools/digital recording/AutoTune age on her side like Miss B so she came up in an era where you would naturally have to work harder to make up for shortcomings. Better to compare Beyonce with Mariah Carey. Or Britney before her meltdown.

Tina gets overhyped because in the 80s she rose from the ashes. if i'm not mistaken the ike and tina review were a blist rnb group that didn't get much mainstream attention.

Beyonce'. Madonna is getting old. Her days of working hard are behind her. B is doing commercials, movies, concerts, and of course albums non-stop. Last I remember, Madonna took some years off. And when was the last time you saw madonna in a movie? Nuff said!

beyonce works much harder than madonna,the girl is everywhere, she sells everything from cable tv to oxy clean,she's never met an awards show she didnt shake her ass on, she's signed on to play every black female singer in the history of music in upcoming biopics, and she still finds time to promote those god awful fashions her momma makes...she does all this with a smile on her face and not a hair outta place.

I don't know how the tow can be compared without picking a specific time frame. One is more than twice the other's age with 3 children and in a completely different place in her life and career. They both work hard but I can't compare.
