Strangely enough, my old dear's a huge Abba fan. I suppose from her aged perspective listening 2 them must b her equivalent 2 us rocking out 2 Led Zep/ACDC/whatever.  How many of us can genuinely hold up our hands & say we haven't frugged our socks off 2 Dancing Queen, having been dragged up by some frightful ogre at some obscure relative's wedding (which u never wanted 2 attend in the 1st place but went out of a combination of resigned duty and misguided politeness  )? | |

ACDC or Motorhead probably. I love Sabbath and they would be top if things were bases on their Ozzy period but they released too many bad latter albums. I don't really consider Zep to be metal for some reason. Also are Van Halen rock or metal?! | |

Nowadays heavier or more melodic things are called metal. And blues based or glam party music rock are called Hard Rock.
Hard ROck: Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Gusn N Roses, Motley Crue, Skid Row, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Cinderella, Metal: Iron Maiden, Metallica, Pantera, Stratovarius, Helloween are all called metal. I prefer Hard rock over metal. The singers rocks, fucking their voices and screaming like crazy. Just listen Axl Rose, Sebastian Bach and Steve Tyler.. Metal is more cliche and generally they care too much about virtuosism. Hard Rock is sometimes more commercial but is more spontaneous and original. I am a proud hard rocker. |
