![]() :::speechless:::... ![]() What do you recommend I get first? ![]() Innervisions, Talking Book, SITKOL, Fulfillingness' First Finale, Music Of My Mind. I'd say get the first two first, if you're on a budget, get them all at once if you can splurge like that. From there, get everything from the '70s, plus Hotter Than July, an album that is a wee bit underrated to me. I just can't imagine the '70s without Stevie Wonder. For me, he's the most gifted artist to ever come from Motown. A true master, and one of the most underrated and intuitive songwriters of any genre in the history of music. Stevie will make you see things that a lot of people with sight don't always detect. He went places with the synths that people hadn't ventured into at that time. He wrote the most brilliant ballads, he composed some of the sludgiest funk, he played some swinging drums (even on one track with Jimi Hendrix on one of Hendrix's posthumous releases {not a mindblowing song})...ahhh, yeahhh. The Wonder of Stevie. Ya gotta get into him, Moonie! This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

There are a great number of artists I'd like to explore in detail, including Stevie. Others are Parliament/Funkadelic, George Clinton and Gap Band.

Sorry I have to bust Prince...
If u play the VINYL version of "Golden Lady" u will hear a piano intro. This is the SAME intro from "Holy River". On the remastered CD u dont get it. BTW thats his best song.

I love "All Day Sucker",that is just sooo funky!! Coulda easily been a huge hit in 1976/77 if it had been released as a single.

To those of you who are not familiar with Stevie's music, you really need to start with the 70s albums.Begin with 'Music Of My Mind'(1972),then you gotta get 'Talking Book'(1972),'Innervisons'(1973),'Fulfillingness' First Finale'(1974) and the 2-CD 'Songs In The Key Of Life'(1976).All of these CDs have been remastered and they sound great.
Another great place to start would be the 4-CD Stevie Wonder box set 'At The Close Of A Century',which came out in 1999.It features all the hits and the key album tracks from all of those albums I mentioned. You can get this box set for around $50 but it is worth every dime. Here's the full tracklist for the 4 CDs... STEVIE WONDER 'AT THE CLOSE OF A CENTURY' BOX SET--- DISC ONE--- "Fingertips Pt.1 & 2" "Uptight (Everything's Alright)" "Nothing's Too Good For My Baby" "Blowin' In The Wind" "A Place In The Sun" "Hey Love" "I Was Made To Love Her" "Until You Come Back To Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)" "I'm Wondering" "Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day" "You Met Your Match" "For Once In My Life" "I Don't Know Why" "My Cherie Amour" "Yester-Me,Yester-You,Yesterday" "Never Had A Dream Come True" "Signed,Sealed,Delivered I'm Yours" "Heaven Help Us All" "We Can Work It Out" "If You Really Love Me" "Never Dream You'd Leave In Summer" "Superwoman (Where Were You When I Needed You)" "I Love Every Little Thing About You" DISC TWO "Superstition" "You Are The Sunshine Of My Life" "You And I" "I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)" "Too High" "Visions" "Living For The City" "Golden Lady" "Higher Ground" "All In Love Is Fair" "Don't You Worry Bout A Thing" "He's Misstra Know It All" "You Haven't Done Nothing" "Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away" "Too Shy To Say" "Boogie On Reggae Woman" "Creepin" DISC THREE--- "Sir Duke" "I Wish" "Knocks Me Off My Feet" "Pastime Paradise" "Isn't She Lovely" "Ngiculela-Es Una Historia-I Am Singing" "If It's Magic" "As" "Another Star" "Send One Your Love" "All I Do" "Rocket Love" "I Ain't Gonna Stand For It" "Master Blaster (Jammin)" "Lately" "Happy Birthday" DISC FOUR--- "That Girl" "Ribbon In The Sky" "Do I Do" "Love Light In Flight" "I Just Called To Say I Love You" "Overjoyed" "Part-Time Lover" "Go Home" "You Will Know" "Skeletons" "Gotta Have You" "These Three Words" "For Your Love" "How Come,How Long"(with Babyface) I guarantee that, after listening to that box set,you WILL want to go out and seek the individual albums.
