Damn!!! This is my song!!! Though I was just about 4 or 5 when the song came out, I remember it being such an exciting song and I use to want to be just like Pebbles. She seemed like the "it" girl who had men eating out of her hands. What year was this clip from, '87 or '88??? [Edited 12/6/08 20:39pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It is funny to see Baby Face in a "backup" role. Also, I cannot help but hear Prince doing this track. It has that kinda feel to it. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Always loved it and Pebbles! This is my favorite Pebbles track and my 4th favorite Babyface song. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

"Mercedes Boy" will always be my fave Pebbles song, but "Girlfriend" is cool too, definitely one of her best . "And When The Groove Is Dead And Gone, You Know That Love Survives, So We Can Rock Forever" RIP MJ
"Baby, that was much too fast"...Goodnight dear sweet Prince. I'll love you always

Wasn't Vanessa Williams mad at Babyface because he gave this song to Pebbles after he had sent it to her for her debut album? I think she found out when the song hit radio and she was PISSED . If I remeber correctly she kept going on interviews for her hit debut album "The Right Stuff" saying that you didn't need these so called "Hit" producers to have a great album (Ouch!).
I do remeber Babyface taking time to apologize on BET because he said the song "Fit" Pebbles better. Some BS about Pebbles IS Girfriend (Whatev!) Vanessa had a longer musical career anyway. [ZUNECARD]MikeChristopher[/ZUNECARD]

Yeah,Vanessa was quite pissed that they gave this song to Pebbles They didn't even have the decency to call her and tell her their plans! She found out about their deception when she heard the song on the radio, sung by Pebbles. Babyface later worked with Vanessa on one of her 90s albums,so I guess all is forgiven.
