Keyshia Cole new album - a tragic mess The microwaved Mary J. Blige! Keysh's new album is a hot ass mess. On the heels of the 1.5 million selling Just Like You (an album I quite liked), she decides to rush release A Different Me with the lead single being.....Playa Cardz Right feat. Tupac. An old ass demo from 2006. WTF? Brilliant move. She recently signed a 5 album deal with Geffen so I'm not sure what the sense of urgency is. Anyhoo, Keysh also decided she should take some super-sexy promo photos for Pepto Bismol. Yes, this is what they came up with the promote the album.

I dont understand why she gets such props from RB listeners, industry people and fellow artists who all of a sudden are putting her on this throne? I saw an unplugged session she was doing on vh1 soul and i was looking for sandman sims to come out with the freaking hook and drag her off the stage, plus she is nothing more than a xerox of Mary J except she had a fake ass reality show. I didnt like her last album, and I dont like the new song. Just sounds like rehashes of other protooled R&B songs that have came from 1998 until now. 
I do lik the show but if I dont hear an upbeat track from her anytime soon Im really giving up. Straight Jacket Funk Affair

It seems like every other album that she releases is good, while the one before is terrible. However, I will say this, her cd is not as bad as Beyonce. Her's is a hot mess!! I didn't even notice she has a new album out...well i'm not a fan of hers, so I guess I wouldn't notice but yeah i'm with you, what is the rush? she seems to have quite a few fans following her, so don't know what is up with the back to back albums. she sounds horrible live, to me thats the only thing she has in common with Mary J. - they are both studio singers.I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. | |

I love both CDs, the 2nd one more than the 1st. I think the Mary J comparisons are because they sing of pain and betrayal and stuff like that.
In the meantime, the new single is not grabbing me. | |

I happened to be watching that fight Saturday night I could barely stand to listen to her butcher the U.S. anthem. Her dress was something a skanky ho would wear and her voice was god awful. I was embarrassed for her. | |
