So far,the only new CD I'm looking forward to in 2009 is Jamiroquai. They're getting ready to sign a new record deal and are promising that the new CD will be released in spring 2009.

That's good news. Didn't someone from the group leave????? I heard some sort of news in `08 where the group either broke up or went on hiatus or someone left

As far as I know, nobody has left the band. They've just been taking a break since 2006,performing the occasional gig. This is a transitional period for them. They're free from their Sony contract and are getting ready to start over on a new label. They've recorded over 11 tracks for the new CD.This time, they chose to record it first, then "shop it" to a label (presumably so they could have more creative freedom during the recording sessions).

OMG, I forgot to mention Preston. I'm looking forward to his first solo album. He was the lead singer of The Ordinary Boys. And is more known in the UK for being a reality star on Celeb Big Brother and storming off Buzzcocks than his work with his band. Their final album: How To Get Everything You Ever Wanted In Ten Easy Steps was one of my faves of '06 and his forthcoming '09 solo effort is the first peep out of him since they disbanded last year. As a result he self-exiled himself in Philadelphia to clear his head and write his debut. I've been stalk..err, uhh, keeping up-to-date on him the normal, healthy way through his frequent blog updates on his website :: http://www.theordinaryboys.com and he's just finished recording his album. Looking forward to checking it out. It's in my Top 5, as well.

Ok, I feel better, now. *____*

1. Prince
2. Teena Marie
3. George Michael
4. Boy George
5. Amy Winehouse
and just in case one of the above don't have a release in 2009 I'd be happy with a new Roisin Murphy disc!

George Michael - Hopefully something new while he is still out and about. Ideally followed by concerts in Australia.

Michael Jackson - Would be great to get some new music to listen to, instead of just hearing about it.

Prince - Any new music is good music from Prince. (Although having said that, hopefully something fresh in a new direction).

Celine Dion

Sade

Stevie Nicks

I'm just hoping...I've heard Teena has a new disc coming, and the others, like I said I'm just hoping. I'll keep my fingers crossed on all 6!!

I'm waiting for Courtney Love's new album,Nobody's Daughter. She has been promising a new album for a long time, but she swears it will finally come out in early 2009.
I know she's always in trouble, but I love her music.
