I like Christina's voice better with the song, but I wish she would restrain herself a bit

These two just don't know how to let a song breathe. Sometimes less is more. Damn you Whitney Houston! (for popularizing this gratuitous warbling).

I, personally, don't care for either woman's voice but if I had to choose I guess I'd go with Beyonce in this case. Overall, I like Christina's songs more.

I'm tired of bitches thinking they can scream this song out and call it art. The original was sung so beautifully and tenderly and with just the right amount of restraint. No melisma all over the damn place. That's how it needs to be done.

Christina's one was HIDEOUS! That girl has no clue. Beyonce sounded better, but she came across like a bad actress. In many ways these girls are amateurs. They are not in the song. They are too busy preening to actually get inside it. In the version below you can see that Cyndi is actually inside it. That's what puts her so far above most other celebrity singers.



EDIT: Just watched the 2003 Christina version which was better than the 2000 one, but still overdone. Nicely filmed though, and the band were good.

I actually didn't mind that album. It showed off how good her chops are vocally and performance wise. I can think of far lower points in her career than that.
