NE-YO may come out on ROSIE LIVE!

Mind you, the source mediatakeout.com is not exactly the los angeles times but the rumor is that he may come out in support of anti PROP8 bill

Now we all know the brutha is more suspect then a box of fruity pebbles..but I doubt he would go this far...

Discuss.. razz

People talk a lot about him being gay, whether he is or not (don't care) but I know for a fact that he's not going to do anything like that (especially if he wants to have a singing career)..... remember Tevin Campbell smile

I always thought Ne Yo and Tevin were similar

and the 90's are over, being gay is tolerated more this decade than last even though there is still a lot of homophobia

I totally agree. He would not shoot his career in the foot, at this point of his career. If he was smart, he would not say a word and just keep people wondering.

I don't think being gay would change his talent or personality. I think he should come out if he really is

I agree. I hate when people suddenly try to "make it obvious" as soon as they "come out of the closet". Just continue to be yourself and do you and stop worrying about what others think.

For the White and more mature consumers ... But Ne Yo's audience is young urban girls and guys and they will drop his ass fast

then they need to stop being narrowminded and same for other minority groups who are sooo homophobic and like to throw around "that's so gay" like it's degrading instead of empowering.

And poor Tevin was outed when he got caught propositioning the cop.. I still cringe when i think about how they dogged hin on the radio the day the story broke.. I was like damn here's is this young man dealing with something that he has no control over and he went from being loved by many to nothing sad

I hate that saying too...I wish that he could be himself if he is gay and still have a carrer but it will not be a Elton John or George Michael type of situation if he comes out sad

I guess if Ne-Yo was a rock/pop singer, it wouldn't have really been a problem. I remember the Tevin incident.

I sometimes say that's so gay but that's only if something literally is gay, not if it's 'so dumb' or 'so stupid' and I'm not all the way straight anyway but I don't flaunt my orientation in everyone's face either. If I say anything or even joke about it with narrowminded people, they will make it into a bad thing or think I have some kind of lifestyle when I'm really just shy and quiet me that likes guys and sometimes girls even if I would prefer dating guys.

In a perfect world.. but the world of r&b/hiphop will not be an accepting fraction in no NEAR FUTURE. It's just the way it is. Right or Wrong. Its a culture of heterosexual stereotypes.

Luther Vandross, RIP.. lived in that world for many many yrs and I dont blame him for not officially coming out. Sometimes what you do in the sheets is not a social issue. Not everyone can be a trailblazer in that regard.

I remember PATTI LABELLE, when asked said r&b/hip hop artists should stay in the closest. I was pretty surprised..as she has a legion of gay followers and has won the GLAAD award for acceptance and love for the LGBT community. But after thinking about it.. I see where she was coming from. She has kept luthers secret and many others for so many yrs. And having conversated with Ms Labelle in my lifetime.. I SO SEE, where she is coming from!

I know people in the industry have said that a lot of r&b and hip hop artists are in the closet and no one knows but insiders, so I think it's being shunned and because of how some may associate it with AIDS when that is so 1980's of them.

Yeah Patti's right. I think in the R&B/hip-hop community, there's too many negative connotations with being homosexual that sometimes it's best for even proud gay black men to not wanna be so open with everybody. In a way some of us who are of different orientations never choose to wanna reveal it, not because we're scared but because...it ain't none of their business.

So it's kinda damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Where is the logic in that ?

He tried hard to control his weight, but suffered much from the extreme weight-losses and gains.

Now I don't know if he gay or not, though he is suspect...but he can write his ass off!

Sadly, his career will be over if he does that. Female fans want to believe they have a chance with their singer, they will abandon him.
