Loves me some Gene Chandler. About a year and a half ago, I though all of his songs would be "Duke of Earl" types, boy was I wrong. I heard "Rainbow '65" live at Regal on the radio one day and asked my pops, "who dat?" he said "Gene Chandler" I'm like "the Duke," he like "yeah" and I'm like "word ..." Than a week later, I listened to my pops Gene Chandler CD. (Always knew he had it, just never listned to it thinkin' they're all "Duke" types) Well this CD had his early material from like '62 and '63 only. I found "Rainbow" but not the live version I was lookin' for. I ran up on another track "Man's Temptation" and that what really got me into Duke. PRINCE: Always and Forever

good find blue corvette. I like this gene chandler cut a lot.
Man i might have to find a good gene chandler cd. My dad used to have a gene chandler album when i was a little boy. Next time i go to my mom's house i am going to look for it and see if it's still in decent condition. I know it has the duke of earl, you threw a lucky punch, and rainbow on it. Don't laugh at my funk

That sounds like the same joint my pops got. That sounds like his early years (Vee-Jay.) He was best as Bruinswick Records (also home of Jackie Wilson, Chi-Lites among others at that time.) I Fooled You This Time I've been jammin' that a lot recently. PRINCE: Always and Forever
