Britney: For The Record

Watching this doc, it feels like she's more on the brink than she ever was. They've got her medicated and seeing doctors, but they're doing it so she can be a viable product and not a viable person. Something is seriously wrong with this situation. I'm actually a little scared for her. She hasn't had the time to really integrate any semblance of normalcy into her life.

What kind of treatment do you think she requires though? I think most of the work has to come from within..

I saw a bit, and at least she seems a little more balanced. But yeah, she's sedated to the gills. If this gives her a bit of confidence and structure, I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing though.

Pulling the plug on her career until she's in a good place. What's the point of a career if you're dying inside?

I'm guessing she is a bit lost without the structure of a career.

It's weird. Whenever I see Britney now, I'm actually rooting for her because I know she's been around some fucked up people who have used her.

She has one now, and she seems *very* lost to me.

I think Britney is definately on the right track, but it is obvious that she is still deeply troubled and very unhappy. It wouldn't surprise me if she were on anti depressant medication. I think that the people around her, especially her record company has rushed her back into the spotlight, and did not have her best interest at heart. She looks great, but until she is mentally stable, she should have taken more time out of the spotlight. It is a shame, but the only thing people care about is money, and if God forbid she commits suicide (which I fear if she isn't helped), she will be worth more dead. My heart goes out to her. It goes to show you that in life you can have everything, yet nothing at the same time. You cannot put a price tag on inner peace and happiness.

She is definitely extremely dull and lacking life in her eyes.

I've always felt for her but now I feel for her even more.

Too bad she's not the kinda artist that can write songs as therapy, yknow?

Who was behind "Piece of Me"? I thought that was a potent dose of verisimilitude.

Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, and Klas Åhlund. Pharrell wrote Why Should I Be Sad as well.

Bless him for giving her songs that she could actually relate to.

I just think it would be healthy if she knew how to express herself through writing.

I was watching the TVOne special on Phyliss Hyman

It left a bad taste in my mouth. There's this unspoken tension between her and her team. She freely criticised them all, too.

It's like she still doesn't quite understand why she's under such control. She's still so so young in her mind, it's really tragic.

I wish now more than ever that she hadn't rushed back into show biz so quick.

how much time do other professional take off from their jobs to handle their mental health issues? i don't think the doctors that are getting paid as well as they are going to risk a big lawsuit if cracks under the pressure again.

she's going to look scared until her confidence comes back. also she stated she has trust issues when there weren't any. She has to be out there to get over the next major hump however unlike you and i she makes her major life changes in front of everyone. if Brit is serious about a return she has to do this. am i worried? yeah the road to recovery and mental health is not easy, but you have to walk through the fear. this is just as much her proving to herself she can do this again.

Ugh, I hate that fucking kid. His voice is similar to Britney's sometimes, makes it hard to listen to her speak.

I can imagine.

On a serious note, all strength to Brit.
Hope she gets through it all well.

Hey I found this game where you could actually kill him (it's in Newgrounds) and apparently he repeats the same stuff he said in that infamous video on three of the buttons. On the fourth one, he looks shocked as if he realizes what's about to happen to him and then on the fifth one, he's thrashed to pieces and a little dog comes out of his stomach yelling "FREEDOM!" evillol

I did not have a chance to see this last night, but I saw the ads.

I am not so much a Britney fan as I am rooting for her as Britney-the person.
So I hope she finds health, peace, and happiness.

You know, after watching the promo for this when she says "dance is therapy" for her, I was wondering if it is Britney herself pushing her career forward as more of a creative outlet?

It is just that this seems like the only outlet she has-where she finds her self-esteem, maybe?

Completely agree. She should just sing and dance for her own enjoyment, not necessarily for public release.

Please don't get mad at me but I worry that she is approaching 27, the unlucky number for big stars passing eg. kurt cobain, janis joplin....of course I don't wish that on her but I saw her x factor performance and it's just as bad as gimmie more on the mtv music awards, except she's not wearing a revealing outfit

x factor was light years ahead of the Bambi performance. she's going to need osmetime to get back in the groove. She's a differnt person, i foresee major changes ahead for her and some more struggle. though i hope she's strong enough to be true to herself and not crack under the pressure again.
