Purple Rain Cover by the Chihuahuas Hi,
I realise I'm taking my life in my hands posting in this forum, but our Scottish traditional/ country roots band does a cover of Purple Rain. We love the music and you guys obviously do so thought I'd post it for your opinion. It's meant to be fun and an homage as well - and it's certainly not meant to be better than Prince's - just an experiment. Please have a listen through before you trash it lol.... http://www.myspace.com/chihuahuasband Also, we sent a CD of this to what we thought was Prince's house but reading the forum i don't think it is anymore.  It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Thanks very much. On the other side of the Atlantic ocean tonight, in the frozen depths of Scotland - were taking strength from that man! It's meant to be good fun and hopefully it shows that a good tune can transcend many genres. Thanks again Danny  | |

A friend of mine also has a version of PR on his myspace site, but I prefer his other music to their take on PR. Purple rain is one of my fav songs, I don't know....This cover is funny that took out the gloomy, sad atmosphere of the original song:-D ....Purple rain is a serious song....

That's one of the reasons we'd write to him. To check if he's cool with it. You have to clear these things if you want to put them on a CD obviously. We don't make any money at the moment - but would do it all properly if the time comes. | |
