Bat For Lashes - Fur and Gold 1 Horse and I 3:40 2 Trophy 4:00 3 Tahiti 3:38 4 What's a Girl to Do? 2:58 5 Sad Eyes 4:16 6 The Wizard 4:16 7 Prescilla 3:34 8 Bat's Mouth 4:25 9 Seal Jubilee 4:44 10 Sarah 3:56 11 I Saw a Light 6:24 this album, although i've already had it since it was first released, is quickly turning into my favorit album released since 2000. what an amazing collection of songs. everything from the breathy atmospheric production to the arrangements that delve equally into the mystical and the minimalist, to the softly and beautifully sung lyrics. the vocals in particular draw me into the album from the first song and keep me interested right to the last note of the disc. it's very seldom these days that an album captivates me from beginning to end but this album does that, and more. when it's over i want more, much more. beyond her own material, singer kahn also makes a mean cover, prove being in her awesome renditions of the cure's "a forrest", eurythmics' "sweet dreams" and bruce springsteen's "i'm on fire", which have all been released as b-sides or single online downloads. and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

"what's a girl to do" one of the more contemporary songs on the album, with a nice video, which is also one of my fav visuals of the new millennium as far as music video's go. love this song. although the other single, "prescilla" is a better indicator of the overall mood of the album "prescilla" and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

She reminds me of Polly Jean, at times. [Edited 12/2/08 4:15am]

She reminds me of Polly Jean, at times. What? I remember why I did not play this more often; I find it a bit monotomous. Sometimes that's okay, as in this case, but I am not overly fanatic about the entire album, some songs jump up at me, but nothing that made me go gaga.

It happens every now and then. Sometimes he plays me something and I go, uhmmmmm, but then play it more often and I go WOW, as happened with Burial. It also did not happen with the band whoms picture makes his profile so slow to load. Windmill. I kinda like it, but not a wow-factor to me.

I adore her album!
Her voice is lovely and the themes on the album are right up my alley...I only wish she had used a tad more electric elements If you will, so will I

There are four songs I really like on the album. Overall it's pretty good, nothing on there I really dislike.

Great album.
She sounds like a sedated Bjork. I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the dirt.

Heehee. It's on exhibit at the RIjksmuseum here and weird enough I liked it waaaaay more then I thought I would. Hirst is a smart fella but I dislike most of his art, as to me it is made out of all the wrong reasons, but whatever he never did with the animals on water, he did with this one; it's touched me.
