I was listening 2 the 12" version of Addicted to Your Love by the GAP Band last night. The song is damn near identical 2 Bobby Brown's My Perogative. I have not had a chance 2 look into it, but does anyone know which one of these songs was released 1st? I'm thinking that Addicted came out before 1987 but I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated.

Probably not stolen, but just a re-hashing, considering the contributors were all associated together from an era of time in r&b.

Nah, that came out in '90. (For some reason the whole video has problems loading up all the way) but Teddy WAS inspired by the Gap Band tho. "My Prerogative" had the same kind of rhythmic keyboard/synthesizer riffs that were omnipresent in 1980s Gap Band tunes.
