Britney performs on X Factor UK

Live with backing track or completely lipped? I think backing track. She seems to get a little more confident with each performance but I think the stupid song and choreography is hindering her.

Next up is a mini concert on Good Morning America, Dec 2. She'll be performing more than just Womanizer, thankfully. Also the documentary on MTV on the 30th.

But she isnt actually going on shows over there, she more or less is letting the label push it, and if it moves there so be it. But there are alot of other artists that are now overseas when their albums are out, rather than being here promoting it, becuase theres nowhere to promote an album here, no shows etc...

The most embarrasing performance ever...she mimed on a live talent contest? sad
She's so sh$T ...even regular joe's like james noticed it was crap confused

James Corden has criticised Britney Spears for giving a "half-a***d" performance on The X Factor.

The singer mimed her new single 'Womanizer' on the ITV1 talent show's results episode last night. It was her first UK television performance in over four years.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor, Corden, who is best known for his role in Gavin & Stacey, claimed that Spears had been upstaged by the competition's finalists."They're all better than Britney Spears. I'm not lying," he told show host Holly Willoughby. "The song sounded great but I've already got the CD, so I don't really need to see someone come out and mime it.

"Here's a group of people not trained, not sold five million albums, not all that stuff, coming out singing live every week and being judged really harshly. Then out comes Britney Spears, mimes a sort of half-a***d performance of the thing and then leaves to go and play at Heaven tonight at midnight. I was just watching it going: 'You're still a bit mental'." lol lol

it was a much better performance than the germany show. aren't most "live" tv appearances in the can anyway because of the aucstics of the venues?

yes she is singing. how loud in the mix or if even her mic is on is a different question. She it's lacking anything too difficult i don't know why they don't let the girl have a hand held mic, but i'm sure the progamming on her voice wouldn't sound as on target.

She is not singing the song live. She may say a few words here and there but she is not singing it - she's lip synching 99% of it.

You can not have vocals that loud and clear when it's sung that quiet and low. To get that kind of clarity you would have to have it turned up so loud that you would also hear every single breath. That is not a song you just belt out - it's song in a lower register - much harder to mic live.

So you've both said that yes her mic was definitely on.

How do you call it lip syncing if her mic is on?

To me, as I said, it's live with a loud backing track.

Yes very very loud so you can heardly hear her as she is not capable of much more right now. It's very endearing how much you love her and are rooting for her it's blinkered adoration rather than rooting for someone and being honest about them.

If you were friends with Britney you would be another yes person rather than the honesty that people need to see what they need to do to recover.

Like I said I am a big big fan of Britney but not to the point where I think a rubbish half assed performance is a credible example of someone on route to conquering their game again. There is still a looooong way to go before she manages that and I am not sure she is in the right place or should even be trying to right now.

Like has been said in the thread about her show last night it's awful that she's even having to do this right now. Too soon. I love her new record, it rocks and Blackout was amazing too however i'd rather enjoy listening to them. Lackluster performaces for me take the shine off all that she HAS achieved recently.

Just my opinion

Oh for crying out loud, I say she's singing live and that makes me obsessed? So those who constantly deny her live voice are biased too then?

A yes person? Ha! I hated her last year, mainly cuz I couldn't understand why she was ruining herself but there's no way I would've said yes to the shit she's done in her life. She's made massive mistakes but I should be allowed to say "she's singing live" without you jumping down my throat.

I agree, these performances are average, AS I EXPECTED, but that doesn't mean she was lip syncing. If anything, I believe they were toned down in ORDER for her to sing more.

If she's singing along with it then i personally can't hear her own voice through the loud mix which you mentioned, or maybe the sound-technician had switched her mic-level on the speakers to zero shrug twocents

Diva Britney 'causes chaos' backstage at The X Factor
Mon Dec 01 11:08AM by TV Editor

Britney Spears has reportedly proven herself to be the biggest diva ever to appear on The X Factor after snubbing the contestants and refusing to meet Simon Cowell backstage.

The singer, who appeared on Saturday night's show, also turned down the dressing room provided and instead insisted on using Simon Cowell's private green room.

Britney's minders banned Simon Cowell from chatting to the star in her room ahead of the show and the judges were forced to grab a quick photo with her in the corridor, reports The Sun.

An X Factor insider told the paper: "You have never seen so many heavies. Even around the judges' dressing rooms were sealed off by Britney's security people. When the judges went to meet her, her security wouldn't let anyone past."

Britney also shocked the show's judges by not watching the contestants' performances. Previous guests including Take That and even famous diva Mariah Carey spent time mentoring the acts but Britney didn't even watch the show backstage. eek

When Dermot asked her what she thought of this year's final five she said: "Yes, awesome, thank you. I met so many people, the place is beautiful." lol lol

Britney has also been criticised by viewers after miming throughout the performance of her latest single - the judges gave her a standing ovation even though other acts who have appeared on the series have sung live.

What did you think of Britney's performance? How do you think she would fare as a contestant in The X Factor? Let us know what you think...

Well i'm not sure about all that.

She did pose for pictures with all the judges backstage - they are all over the press today.

Plus I am in my 30's and I like the music as do a few of my friends.

But based on this performance she wouldn't have even made the 1st round of the x factor. But then neither would have Madonna or Kylie or loads of massive stars. Star quality isn't all about singing.

I hope she gets better or this tour is going to make her feel really depressed with bad review after bad review (if this performance is anything to go by. The British press and talk shows all are horrified by this performance)

Shame really as the song / image etc was all spot on.
