Janet Possibly Heading Back To TV Roots ("Supernatural") A fan posted this on Janet's official forum:
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I don't think it has because I just did a triple search!
I have a subscription to Sci-Fi magazine (yes, I'm a total paranormal nerd) and much to my surprise, Janet is mentioned by the creator/producer of the CW network's Supernatural about her possibly appearing in a recurring role on the show. Apparently, just before Janet went on tour, she met with Eric and discussed a role for her, but the tour kind of sidetracked it. Now, he's hoping to have her on later in the season. I had no idea Eric was such a huge fan of Janet's, but she should definitely take advantage of this. It would be BIG publicity for her since the show is getting its highest ratings yet. But could any of us imagine Janet on the show? I mean, it'd be crazy, considering the series deals with demonic and satanic stuff. Could our Janet be playing a demon? Anyhoo, here's an excerpt from the interview: SF: You tend to have a lot of lesser known indie actors guest starring on the show. Will that ever change? Maybe an Al Pacino walk-on or something? Kripke: Budget-wise, it's impossible to fulfill my actor wishlist. But we almost went totally left field and nabbed Janet Jackson. I'm not even name dropping, seriously. People forget that shes's not just this bonafide pop act, but a very respected actress, too. Before production on this season began, we were in discussions to have her come on for a few episodes, but things were left in limbo when our shooting dates conflicted with her touring schedule. I'm a fan of hers and I know she likes the show, so I really wanted it to come to fruition. SF: That's interesting! Since production hasn't wrapped on the season.... Kripke: Right. We still have a long way to go, so I will be in touch with Janet. We'll see if I can pull this off. I don't think anyone would expect her to do a show like ours. It's this issue (Page 77: 
It's a great read if you're just into Supernatural overall. Once again, I HOPE this hasn't been posted - it's a pet peeve of mine to be the one posting the 3rd or 4th thread on something.  
I have never heard of this supposed science fiction show, but it would probably be best if Janet focused on acting full time and stopped making music. Nobody wants to hear her sing anymore, so maybe they want to see her act. I'd say it'd be a good career move to do the show. But since she doesn't seem to be making good career moves, it probably won't happen. | |

she's in the same age group as people like regina king, stacey dash, vanessa williams etc. so going their route like vanessa williams on ugly betty would be a good move for her, and she did start out acting of course. She wouldn't be predictable like Beyonce doing musical roles | |

I think she should do it.Taking a break from music might be just what the doctor ordered.If she doesn't wanna do this particular show,she should try to come up with a sitcom of her own....maybe ask Tyler Perry to write it? | |

I hope she gets a role like Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams) character on Ugly Betty... I want to see her be a bitch on TV not one of those extra sweet characters | |

I was thinking that she should do a sitcom that pairs her with her "Good Times" mother Janet Du'Bois.They can play mother and daughter again,living together in an apartment.Mo'Nique could play the crazy,gossiping neighbor who lives next door. | |

i would love 2 c janet do a series of acting gigs including house of pain and meet the browns do some daytime acting like young and the restless,all my children or as the world turns. janet isnt a beyonce she is a real actress and i would love 2 c her explore that again | |
