Tony! Toni! Toné! appreciation I thought they were the best of the boys groups of the 90's. They had their own style in music and fashion.
Loved the fact they could write and arrange their own music and actually play instruments. they were the best. Why did the break up? What are their latest projects? What is your favorite? My favorite single is It never rains in California... just a nice vibe and easy going rhythm. Just so cool. my favorite album was Sons of Soul [Edited 11/29/08 18:52pm] [Edited 11/29/08 18:53pm] "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack

That's my favorite CD by them too. My favorite song is "Aniversary". I sometimes wish that they would get back together, but you can't have everything... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Yeah the Tonys are the shit for sure but my jaw dropped when you labeled them a "boy band."
I guess they are boys and they are in a band but man,the TTT's were so far beyond 98 Degrees,'N Synch, NKOTB and The Backstreets that I don't know how you could mention them in the same breath. That's sacrilege to me. House of Music was the pinnacle disc for me but it's all good. First thing I ever heard them do was I Don't Know What You Come to Do from the House Party soundtrack. I was hooked on the Tony's from the get go. I wish Rafael would get off his high horse and agree to reunite. I've tasted everythign he's done since leaving the group ('cept the new retro-motown sounding disc) and have been disappointed every time. [Edited 11/29/08 19:22pm]

I Tony! Toni! Tone! My favorite jam is "I've Been Thinking About You"
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Thinking of You is da bomb alright.
There's a Maxi Single out there with 4 mixes and an alternate mix of Let's Get Down thrown in for good measure. The best mix features samples of the horn charts from Al Green's Love and Happiness. It's killer.

When the police found it, that was the only CD that was missing from my CD case! Where the hell were YOU on the night of August 15, 1997? I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

My favorite TTT joint would have to be "Lovin' You" from their classic House of Music album.
Anyway, I have every album TTT and Raphael Saddiq (as a solo artist) has released and I am proud to say that they have pleased my ears and music tastes for over 20 something years. Ever since that premiered in the late 80's, I knew that they were going to change the R&B game, but it's sad that the long awaited reunion will never happen. It was fun while it lasted. Since we're on the Tonyies, how is this album? Check me out and add me on:

Yeah, my favorite cut from them is probably "Baby Doll". My favorite album from them is Sons of Soul, with the cuts - "Slow Wine", "Anniversary", "My Ex-girlfriend", "Lay Your Head on My Pillow" and "If I Had No Loot". But yeah, they were the shit, the precursor to Neo Soul. nWo: bboy87 - Timmy84 - LittleBlueCorvette - MuthaFunka - phunkdaddy - Christopher

Hands down one of the best R&B soul groups to ever hit wax!!! This group will always be my top favorites list. And ya'll know I just adore Raphael Saadiq, but his brother DeWayne had a great solo album that came out about 8 years ago. They are all very talented.
I love almost all the songs off of all their albums, and I mean all 4 of them , but if I had to choose which one was my utlimate favorite, it would have to be: Tracklist: 1. If I Had No Loot 2. What Goes Around Comes Around 3. My Ex-Girlfriend 4. Tell Me Mama 5. Leavin' 6. Slow Wine 7. Pillow, (Lay Your Head on My) 8. I Couldn't Keep It to Myself 9. Gangsta Groove 10. Tonyies! In the Wrong Key 11. Dance Hall 12. Times Square 2:30 A.M. - (Segue) 13. Fun 14. Anniversary 15. Castleers Every damn song on here is my shit, ya heard me??!!!! I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

[Edited 11/29/08 19:22pm] I know and I agree, it was sacrilegious of me. I thought of them being in the same category when I was looking at another thread that listed the hits back in 1990. There were several songs by "boy" bands, and I realize that by definition, the Tony's were a boy band... but so unlike their contemporaries. I guess comparing them to Hifive or Jodeci, was my way of really bringing to light just how superior Tony's were in that era of music. No disrespect whatsoever. They were/are the shyt! Whatever You Want Okay, I did not know that all 3 Tony's could play guitars. Or is this for show for the video. Who played which instruments? I really didn't know Rapheal could play. But it was my understanding that he wrote and arranged most of the music. Somebody please set a sista straight! "Remember, one man's filler is another man's killer" -- Haystack
