Does anyone like TYPE O NEGATIVE and The CULT? and what about Harry Rolands? Ya know The Cult played with Lenny Kravitz and dig this Public Enemy opened for The Jesus and Mary Chain. Type O I was told was called Carnivore way back. So can somebody school me about all this alternative music and some clips can be seen on you tube now.

The Cult
One of my favorite songs EVER BY ANYONE One of the most unique and killer voices in music ever . [Edited 11/24/08 10:31am] 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

I love old Cult. From 1983 Southern Death Cult-era through Death Cult to Sonic Temple Cult, it's all good. I gave up on them after that, but they did have a few good singles later like "The Witch" and "Rise".
Type O Negative is cool cartoony goth metal (I have all their studio albums), but at the same time I can't give Peter Steele my 100% support because his past is kind of shady.

Does it involve some kind of phobia? Peter's old band Carnivore is not very politically correct. Some insensitive Carnivore lyrics even creep onto the first Type O album. I've never heard him say anything explicitly, but I'm thinking back then, he wasn't so fond of the mixing of the races.

Sonic Temple was kick-ass! It's a great guitar album. I bought the two after that, but they were watered-down copies I thought. I eventually sold them.

I saw The Cult opening for Guns 'N Roses in 1993, I believe that was the end of an era.....it was more or less the last I heard from The Cult (or, I just stopped following them) until I heard that Ian Astbury had joined the reunited The Doors as a stand in for Jim Morisson in 2002....

Once they hit it with Fire WOman, I became a lot less interested. I never got into Type O Negative, but I have seen Peter Steele's "steely peter". Christian Zombie Vampires

Yeah, Peter posed for Playgirl when I was working for that publishing company. I don't think he realized mostly men read the magazine, lol.

Are you sure about that? I know Public Enemy toured with the Sisters Of Mercy, but I never heard anything about them opening for the Jesus & Mary Chain.
