The last great frontman remembered. Michael Hutchence November 22nd, 1997 Hard to believe it was 11 years ago that Michael left the world, and the world of music lost its last great rockstar frontman. It was around this time on a Saturday that the news got through to America from Australia that his body was found, from that point there will be always speculation on the cause of death, but i think most fans of Michael that know all the details know that this death was not a suicide. Inxs and Michael were one of the best bands, creating a sound that cannot be rivaled or duplicated, they came from an era that had GREAT unique bands and sound, and those days, like Michael are gone now. I think everyone should go find and listen too one of the greatest Inxs tracks "Kill the Pain" from the Full Moon Dirty hearts record, truly a great vocalist and talent the world will never see again "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

Timmy84 said: Excellent, and ironically that video is part of the "full moon dirty hearts" video album (see Beyonce it was done by others), Inxs was always known for doing alot of videos, not just for singles for everything, some very simple, some complex, but always great pieces of work. Yeah they got like 50 videos on YouTube, I watched their video for "Falling Down the Mountains (Kiss the Dirt)" a while back. they will always be one of the most personal bands to me and i took it really hard when Michael died, it was unreal that he was gone, and right in the middle of rehearsing a tour, a night after having dinner with his father and rehearsing with his band. INXS was really the first band that i bought their music with my money, money i would save up from allowance and took a trip to the record store and hope that the 45 was there, and then took it home and played it over and over, and of course having their videos was a great thing They were making videos before MTV came along, they just shot these little films for every song pretty much, from their start that is something they always did. And once they broke through in America with "the one thing" they started coming out with a these vhs collections for each album they did. There were alot of inside things that were going on with him during the beginning of the 90's, everyone said he was a very fragile person and i think alot of things troubled him, things like success, and losing popularity, he blamed records not selling on himself and taking it personally. And ironically during these "not selling" days they were doing their best albums, and after his death early on there was always rumours about someone stepping in. And then in2005 they released "Switch" with their singer JD Fortune. And at first i hated the idea of someone in that spot, but when i read the book "Story to Story" which was a factual account of everything with the band from day one, and hearing about how each member took the death and the regrets and hurt feelings and the resentment of how could he do this to us, i then was able to deal with a "new singer" because i realized that i too was mad at michael and taking it out on the band who had to go on living too. I think the most personal track from that record is "Gods Top Ten" which was written by Andrew Farris who was Michaels best friend in the band and writing partner, the lyrics are amazing and the story is all about Michael leaving and looking back on what he left. what were you all doing on the day he died? How did you find out about his death? 2 Corinthians 4:18 "While we keep our eyes, not on the things seen, but on the things unseen. For the things seen are temporary, but the things unseen are everlasting."

I was living in Marshall, Minnesota at the time and I had my parents visiting us from the UK and we were getting ready 2 go out on a trip and I decided 2 turn on the TV 2 watch the Weather Channel 2 see what the weather was gonna b like for road conditions and as I was channel flicking I came 2 MTV and saw Kurt Loder in Sydney talking about Michael and I thought that he was reporting on the oncoming Elegantly Wasted Tour, then they showed fans outside the Hotel in Sydney crying and wailing and then they showed the clip over and over again of that policeman announcing that the body of a man, currently residing in the UK, was found at(I forgot the actual time) in a Hotel Room, yet they didnt give out the mans specific name at the time, but everyone guessed that it was Michael!!! Kurt Loder mentioned that Michael would b sadly missed!!
I just then pieced everything together and just stood in awes, totally numb and shell-shocked!!!

oh man sad, miss Mike.
I was just adding some videos from my inxs DVDs to my ipod out of the blue on the 22nd! And i didnt even realize what day it was...weird! I was home from school studying for upcoming exams (im in Aus) when i heard a newsflash on the news about it...i didnt know what to think, INXS were/are one of my fave music acts, seconds after watching the news flash i actually called the TV station to verify what the heck i just saw on tv. Then i phoned my sisters who were both obsessed with inxs and we all had a really sad day together...watching videos etc., just complete shock. I visited his memorial in Sydney last year, it was a really nice spot with the lyrics to "shining star" embossed in bronze on the massive sandstone memorial. I had to wait to visit as i saw another distraught fan ahead of my crying at the memorial and leaving flowers. This wasn't on the anniversary of his death last year, just a normal day...so its still affecting many people daily... Miss ya Mike, never saw you live, and i never will but you'll always be remembered by me. RIP 1958-2016 Prince RIP 1947-2016 David Bowie
