Think Britney can't sing?

You've never heard of SUBTLE!

The song is called My Baby and is, obviously, about her children.

This song is so beautiful! Yes she can sing!..

I would like to give her next cd a chance! This is beautiful, really.

Thanks for posting.

You know what? I think she might be the perfect "pop" star because she can sing and dance...

I was just talking about Selena in another thread.. I think Selena was also the perfect pop star because she could sing and dance. In other words, she did not rely on her "dancing," like some.

You know.. I wish Britney would sometimes just have a band, like Selena did, and then dance around on stage.. But I know many Britney fans love her dancing with dancers. I just think it would different if she did not do this as much but then I guess she would not be Britney.

I like Brit and all, but the girl still can't sing. She sounds like she is singing through her nose instead of her diaphram.

I do not think she sings like an opera singer, but she has a nice voice.. well in this song.

I think maybe she modifies her voice for different songs.

I don't know if this song is the best example. She still sounded better as a kid than she has as an adult. I find the quality irksome and nasally.

Oh, ok. I do not know what a "good" singer is! lol lol I would think an opera singer would be the best as far as training and quality? But you know.. I am not a huge fan of opera singers! lol

I guess maybe Britney's voice is not "good" by standards of what good is?

But I like her voice on this song. I find it pleasing. But maybe if I knew more about how to analyze singing I would not like it. I am just a simple person! I do not know what is necessarily supposed to be "good." I just know what is pleasing to me.

I am not a "Britney" fan.. really. But I would like for her to be successful. Of course, it all depends upon the what she puts together on her cd. I think this song is pretty.

You know.. I do like Mariah Carey. Maybe she is not the best singer either? I really like her though. I also like Christina Aguilera and Pink.
I like Paulina Rubio (I forgot her at first), Maria Rita,Bebel Gilberto, Vanessa Paradis..Carla Bruni (Sarkozy) even! LOL I do not know if these people have good voices or not!

P.S. Right now my favorite song is "I'm Yours," but Jason Mraz. Do people like him here? I like him, but it is not like I am a member of his fan club or anything. I am more of a random music fan! lol I do not know much about music except you know.. just a casual fan. I have my opinions on some things.. but is not like I really know anything about music.

eek confused lol

Hmm.. well as I said, maybe it would be better if she had a band like Selena.. and you know sort of danced around without really dancing like one of her dancers.

I thought Selena could dance.. but she did not do the same type of routines. To me.. Selena was more a very good singer who could move well and dance well.

You know who is a really good dancer and a pretty good singer--That Julianne Hough!

Now she has a band when she sings her country-western songs. But when she dances on Dancing With the Stars.. she's is definitely a very good dancer.

I like country-western music. I like Dolly Parton, but I am not usually a huge fan of country-western music. I think Julianne Hough is good though.

She can physically make sound come out of her mouth, but try listening to her without the computers and 4 unknown chicks pumping up her vocals.

Yeah, I still think she's crap. That woman should have just been a backup dancer or something for a performer with actual talent.

I really don't understand the appeal. There was a moment or two when i thought she was okay but never all that and now with all that's been disclosed I can't look at her without flinching a bit.

Putting her weak vocals aside, I don't hear any real emotion or soul coming from her music. It just sounds like someone on autopilot.

Sometimes I think people want so badly for there to be that next big female pop icon that they'll take anything.

You're probably right. The sad thing is that there are a lot of incredibly talented young women who'll never get the chance to shine in today's business.

I just thought the song was pretty, and she did a good job singing it.

I think she can dance, too.

I never realized she was so .. amplified! lol

But just listening to the song, I liked it.

I would buy her next cd if it turns-out to be good. If it is not good, I won't buy it.

Are kids supposed to sing like she did at that age? She was hitting the Christina type notes back then, is that right? Maybe that ruined her voice a little...

This song is definitely on the new CD.

Exactly, she's not an opera singer and yes, her voice isn't strong. But the voice she does have is beautiful, especially when she sings like in My Baby. The only time I don't like her voice is in upbeat songs where she really does sing through her nose.

Why post that? All it proves is that she's exhausted after dancing, her mic was turned on but she couldn't hear herself.

I'd like to see members who rely on this video singing perfect after doing the choreography she does.

she knows her mic is off, aside from the monitors, so she isn't even trying to sing the songs.

If her mic is off why can we hear her? Of course she's not trying to sing if she's dancing!

"Think Britney Can't Sing"? No, I KNOW she can't sing lol. That's very obvious. She can carry a tune, but that's it. Nothing to write home about.

However, that doesn't mean I can't enjoy her music. I like quite a few songs from Ms. Britney actually. "Blackout" is still in heavy rotation on my mp3. Love that album!

Plenty of song-and-dance acts can do strenuous choreography and still manage to sing properly.

Like who? I'm not trying to prove you wrong, I just really can't think of many. All I can really think of for the moment is Michael Jackson in his younger days. Oh and Beyonce.

Michael and Janet, for one. Most boybands, for several others. Beyonce usually can. Even Spice Girls could stay on key while dancing.
