Britney "Circus" my review after a week of listening

First of all, i have looked at a few reviews of the album and it makes me think why do people read critics reviews because they only listen to 30 seconds of a song and look at lyric sheets and go from there. To me its hard to give a FULL honest feel of a record without listening over and over and also if you hate the artist, why bother. I saw a review of Beyonce's cd and the first line of the review was "i dont like Beyonce or her music" well case closed then.

So heres my take on Britney's Latest "Circus"

Womanizer- the single we all know and some hate and some like. this was actually a smart first single, it was safe for her, because it allowed her to get back into a catchy-pop field, it didnt show her as A VICTIM of all that has gone down in her life.

Circus- the second single, already a video completed this past week. This song is very reminiscent of something that could have come from the "Britney" album, very catchy more pop.

Out from Under- slowed down Britney, very power ballad like, not too many of those these days, we either get mid-tempo jams or overblown vocals. but this song is simplistic, but powerful.

Kill the Lights- what some thought was to be the second single, will not be, this was just a rumour, this was the second song to "leak". This could be a single down the line, and Britney has said it will be in the live set, theme similar to "piece of me"

Shattered Glass- this track is growing on me and NO its not a remake of the Laura Branigan song. A lover scorned type of song, catchy, again similar to her early pop days.

If U seek Amy- the track everyone has discussed mainly because of its title, another strong track possible single though unlikely.

Unusual You- heavy keyboard intro, very club like track, similar style to "Breathe on Me" though not "sexual" in theme like that, great orcheastrations in the track.

Blur- probably my least favorite track on the track, not a bad song just not to into it, but it grows. Slow tempo talking about a hangover not from drinking though.

mmm papi- The albums light comedic moment. Britney singing very child like in her vocals, similar to what she did on parts of "Toy Soldier", catchy song once again

Mannequin - A song discussed here often, very good track once again, probably wont make it as a single though, a good song for her upcoming tour.

Lace and Leather- Funky britney?? Excellent track, the bass lines sound like Rick James playing on "Wild and Crazy Love", and the little guitar riff, very prince 80's.

My Baby- for her son, basically is "everytime" but now sung from the perspective of being a mother and not the child...

Radar- this is the "blackout" track but reworked. The reason for its inclusion could be because it was supposed to be the 4th single from "Blackout" but the label decided not to push another single.

Rock Me IN- similar to her early days, this could very well be a single, super catchy, very euro in the chorus, thats the way to go!

Phonography- great song, great play on words and theme. too bad its not on all editions of this release, because its a great song. The play on words is all about her talking on the phone, "bluetooth" "ringtones" "hands free", great mixture of technology talk but giving a sexual overtone

Amnesia- excellent song, great 80's chorus and sound. Very similar to alot of songs and im sure everyone will have a different song that it soounds like.

Overall this is another very good record from Britney, who at this point has had 5 really strong "Albums" IMO in a row. The difference in this record and Blackout is ALOT. Not that one is better than the other, but the theme is different, this record is more pop than she has done since "britney" and Blackout was a more Urban sounding record, and both were great records. As Britney said "Since i didnt tour BlackOut" i have about 30 songs to decide which to add to the shows from these albums.

The import will officially hit the streets monday, and import shops will most likely have them. I got this copy early this week from an import store where i know the owner so he made me a copy of his and then let me buy my own "officially" yesterday.

LOVE it.

Only criticism is I would have not included radar. It isn't really THAT re-worked or that good.

But I like Circus - ALOT.
Have you had your + signs today?
