Madonna, Guy Ritchie officially end marriage No longer Crazy for You: Madonna, Guy Ritchie officially end marriage in London courtroom
By ELLEN TUMPOSKY SPECIAL TO THE NEWS Friday, November 21st 2008, 9:49 AM LONDON - Madonna and Guy Ritchie's marriage lasted eight years and was dissolved in a London minute. In a drab courtroom, a clerk called the case of 'Ciccone ML vs. Ritchie GS' - the sixth in a list of 17 couples headed to splitsville. And with lightning speed the union that began in a Scottish castle was over. "This is the epitome of how a divorce should be done and it is clearly what both Guy and Madonna wanted," Joe Vaitilingam, of the family law firm Hughes Fowler Carruthers in London. RELATED: GUY TURNS DOWN MADONNA'S MILLIONS The couple did not appear in court Friday. Under British law, their preliminary divorce will become final in six weeks and a day. A sworn statement by Madonna cited "unreasonable behavior" on Ritchie's part as grounds for the divorce. Madonna said the couple had not been living together for six months. According to British press reports, the couple have agreed to share custody of their sons, Rocco, 8, and David, 3, who was adopted from Malawi. Last night Ritchie took the boys out to dinner in Liverpool, where he is filming his latest movie, "Sherlock Holmes." RELATED: GUY GETS STRICT RULES The Mirror quoted him as telling a friend: "It was never about money - never about her bloody art collection. I just wanted to settle it and move on." Ritchie added: "I didn't raise any objections at any stage until she insisted the children lived permanently in New York." Ritchie has agreed not to take a share of Madonna's wealth, according to press reports, though under British law he could have sought half of her assets. The Daily Mail said Madonna is giving him a $3 million "sweetener." He will also keep the couple's Wiltshire estate and the Punch Bowl, a pub they own in London's Mayfair section. The family's four houses in London will be sold with the proceeds split between the couple, the Mail reported. http://www.nydailynews.co..._ritc.html I don't want you to think like me. Good for them! I think it's great when a married couple can have a quick, painless divorce without all the nasty drama and nonsense.Granted, there was a little of that several weeks ago but compared to most celebrity divorces, this one went rather smoothly. They are now free to move on with their lives.

Well... have you ever noticed that Madonna does something every year that gurantuees her attention? Next year it will be the Best Of and the fashion campagne. And probably some new friend or stuff. And in 2010 there will be a new album...

ehhh it´s never Painless.... never..... True but I think their relationship was over a long time ago.so they've had time to deal with the pain of it.From what I've heard, they've been having serious problems since 2005.That's when they began living sseparate lives.
