WOW... I can't blame him though, there's way more people checkin for John Legend so he might as well expand his own audience & open for him

Touring is a business just like oil, gas, cheez its, pop tarts, and cars...
Whoever can sell the most tickets is the headliner.. Those who wish to play to larger audiences than they can sell to capacity are often support, regardless of status... I'll leave it alone babe...just be me

Why is Raphael opening for that boring muthafucka? "We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

Because BORING is the new "green" I ain't worried about Ray, he can handle himself pretty well in the business department. Matter o' fact, I don't give a fuck if he bent his ass for a living and let the whole NBA fix it. As long as he keeps bringing his music to me,,,,he can do what the fuck he wants to do

When Rahael produces a coherent album, then he can head a tour.
"The Way I See It", for one, is so bad, it doesn't even warrant performing (though hopefully, for the audience's sake, he'll do something...umm...exciting with those songs). Until then, he rightfully should take a backseat. Plus, simply put, people are not as familiar with RS as they are with JL. Why would the most recognizable name be second billed? Where did u hear this or see this at? It's true. He is opening for John Legend here in charlotte on Dec. 12. Like someone else stated he might as well perform in front of an audience that he couldn't get own his own. Let's be real as much as i've liked ray's first two solo albums he hasn't had a signature hit off of either one like John Legend has. I'm not a john legend fan myself but do like green light. Whether you like John Legend or not the guy has made a big impact on radio and has also reached other audiences and i've heard that the guy puts on a fairly good show. Ray's new project really does nothing for me. [Edited 11/20/08 16:28pm] Don't laugh at my funk

Hopefully, that's not it for tour dates. I do like John Legend (and I especially like his new album).

That's too bad, because Raphael has an amzing new CD out right now. It's unfair that he has to play second fiddle to the boring John Legend.

Raphael needs to eat. EXACTLY. Folks forget being a lifelong musician isn't simply about ego or where you headline...it's a profession and a way of life. Being a consumate, respected professional in the industry Saadiq has his hands in the pot all the way around from songwriting to producing critically acclaimed projects, so at this stage in the game he does gigs, gets his check, and then has the freedom to do what he wants on his free time. Let the boy get his check. Mofos got mortages to pay. You think he's stressing about being an opening act on a tour bigger than what he can do at the moment...? puh-leeze.....

sometimes the opening act is better than the headliner
he might make it hard for john to touch the stage him being a veteran and all
