Stat Quo talks /Dr. Dre/Aftermath Vault/Gay Executives/- Impressive Interview

http://www.worldstarhipho...7v2a8Tn2C8

300-400 Dr Dre produced songs? Stat Quo now has a library that any Hip Hop executive (gay or not) would be ecstatic over. Stat Quo is a brave cat to be speaking on his work. Who on earth would sign to Aftermath after hearing this? The money they are spending recording albums is a whole other documentary. lol
I don't care who you are when he gets into this talk it's engaging how he explains how Aftermath operates. Bishop Lamont has to be sweating.

“I’m not sittin’ on music no more, man,” Stat declared. “I been around Dr. Dre for so long, and as great as he is one thing I disagree with him about how he handles his business is that he sits on a lot of music. He makes incredible music and it just sits there. And it just gets old. And no one ever gets to hear it. Fuck that.”

“And he don’t even get to enjoy what he made,” Stat continued. “He go to the studio and make all this music, everyday, and never put anything out. I’m not living like that. No. I learned what not to do, and I learned what to do, by dealing with those guys. And that’s one thing that I’m not gonna do. I’m not gonna sit on this music ‘cause people need to hear it period.”

All that shit coming out,” he revealed. “Everything that I done rapped on, everybody gonna hear it. You can quote me on that. Everything that I done rapped on, I don’t care who did the beat…Everything that my voice on that I’ve done over these years with them, everybody gonna hear it. I’m just waiting on the right time to put it out…I’m talking about 300, 400 Dre [tracks]. I’m talking about 100 Em beats I’m spittin’ on…”

I gurantee you that Outkast listens to Stat Quo in their ride. No way in hell those cats do not play his mixtapes. When I heard "Dear Summer" I knew this cat had lyrics and heart for hip hop. That sealed it for me.

This surprises me because you usually don't like Hip Hop Artists or producers. Gray Cap has shocked me for the day! lol lol I am guessing Stat Quo is going to start leaking these. Aftermath is mad stupid for sitting on this cat for 5 years. He could have had a plat plaque 3 years ago. Aftermath needs to be consulted by Dave Ramsey to learn how to become "DEBT FREE!"

When it comes to delays and sitting on material, Aftermath can't compare to this label

"We may deify or demonize them but not ignore them. And we call them genius, because they are the people who change the world."

You must be looking forward to the new Big Boi. I am guessing he is on that quality artist list. wink Even Big Boi is jittery on releasing an album this year. I guess it's mixtape season for the rest of the year.
cool

That reminds me more people should release street albums who have vaults.. If they only saw the bigger picture. IF you have talent and a consistent flow of music you can be respected and build your base across the world now. It's funny how so many artists still see it as "I am giving music away for free. I can't do that" Not really, you could release street albums and support yourself if you were that kind of artist.

Stat quo took what Fiddy did with the game and sees the bigger picture. A audience is waiting for those artists who drop a wave of projects on the streets to choose from at will. It's too bad Mint doesnt do street albums. That's another thing, when are R&b/Soul artists going to realize that there is a big market for street albums in that field. When Raheem Devaughn dropped his series I thought that might open the door to more street mix albums. There are a few lanes waiting for those "chosen" recording artists.

Oh you went there. cool

Star Trak has been sitting on so much for the longest. I think I know why Spymob broke up. It worked for 50, it worked for the Clipse, it worked for Saigon. Why sit and wait? So many artists need to take what Stat said and realize there is no need to effin wait. It's the 21 st century. Get a cd burner and a trunk and you are ready to go. Jesus, if you are constantly in the studio and you have 5 alarm fire going on, what is someones breaking point of being constantly shelved? What Stat experienced people can realize that labels are run by people who don't see the bigger picture when it comes to "Investment" for an artist.

It's longterm never short term. That's not a strategy. That's gambling with peoples lives and those under them for a quick dollar that may not be there tomorrow. This is a important lesson whats happening in this industry today.

Audio Diary for Stat Quo

for those who haven't heard Dear Summer Pt. 2

http://www.youtube.com/wa...M3W4LhLU6E

Kind of like a 6 minutes cliff note version of years on Aftermath. It's like a miniseries storytelling in 6 minutes scene to scene. Even the label name is a bad omen "Aftermath"

Do you notice everything Dre is affiliated with has a lethal sound?

Ruthless
Death Row
Aftermath

His next venture should be called Happy Sun Records or some shit lol
