sakamoto is a genius. in the 80s i always thought about prince playing with sakamoto or reaching his level.

i was so happy prince got close to miles but then left that path in the 90s. with TRC, NEWS, xpectation i thought prince was moving somwhere but he came up with shit pop musicology (not even ryuichisan would dare to give that title)...

indeed. musicology was probably the biggest let down of his entire career
to me personally. never before had i been so thoroughly disappointed by a
new prince album. after the organic and free flowing music he'd released
the previous 3-4 years, musicology was a crude awakening to the post GOLD
era plastic drivel i'd hope to never hear again.

3121 was better but still old music that proves hes running out of ideas or that he just wants to play safe and earn some cash. wheres the risky "i dont give a shit" prince?

3 mediocre safe albums in a row. of course prince is still great but hes not ahead of the rest anymore.

in the 00s i pictured prince as sakamoto or even miles and i never imagined he was gonna play with beyonce or some others. same happened with MJ and TTD. they all lost "it"
