but that statement alone is why i don't think it will happen. people are going to see madonna (though i don't like her and wouldn't pay to see her) b/c there is something to see. the name value you speak of is the equivalent of a trainwreck. would you pay money to see a trainwreck? like jackie said, he would probably charge as much as madonna, and you'd be sitting there wondering if he would show up, and if does, if he's be able to perform. you've indicated yourself that his heart isn't in it. i think it does matter that he's sh** now. in these economic times, people are not going to shell out money for sh**...they shouldn't, anyway.

You have a higher opinion of the public than I do. Firstly, many of them don't know he's shit now (just listen to SoulAlive advising Michael to do acoustic concerts for instance). Secondly, with modern day technology it's very easy to hide shitness. I saw some clips of The Spice Girls show and they were miming their crappy songs and dancing badly, but the stage set was impressive, the lights were great and for the audience it was just a trip down memory lane anyway. They didn't care. People are mostly going just to have a night out, say they were there, and to sing along with their old favourites. The sense of occasion is usually enough and with MJ you'd certainly get that. And don't forget performers of MJ's age are all benefitting from the nostalgia of their old fans. Even a lame performer like George Michael is making more money on tour now than he ever did in his heyday.

yeah, i've always gotten a chuckle out of that particular piece of advice from soul alive! (no offense, soul!) lol

maybe you're right. after all, elvis' die hard fans kept going to see him when no rational, sentient being would have plopped down money to see him. there's such a hagiography around him now, but the fact of the matter is, he was just this side of being a total, total has been at the time of his death, much like mj. the elvis estate will not release his last concert 'performance' b/c it would undo all the hardwork they've put in over the last 30 years trying to erase the memory of what he had become the moment it hit the video shelves.

Sheikh seeks millions from Michael Jackson

http://www.cnn.com/2008/W....court.ap/

LONDON, England (AP) -- The son of an Arab monarch is taking the King of Pop to court over an album and an autobiography Michael Jackson was allegedly paid for but never produced.

Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa is seeking $7 million from the embattled singer at London's Royal Courts of Justice.

Lawyers for Al Khalifa say the money was intended as an advance on a joint recording project. Jackson, however, claims the cash was a gift.

David Sherborne, representing Al Khalifa, says the case would mainly hinge on the nature of Jackson's friendship with the sheikh.

Jackson was not in court as the trial opened Monday.

Jackson's finances fell apart following his arrest in 2003 on charges that he molested a 13-year old boy at Neverland. He moved to Bahrain after being acquitted.

I don't know what's scarier, an Arab Prince suing MJ, or MJ's picture above... lol

I mean... I don't blame him... if I would be in L.A. with my family and would have to hop on a plane for a 11 to 12 hour flight to testify in a trial, which I'll probably loose and all it needs is to ask my dr. friend to give me a attest, so I don't have to go, I would do it too!

But for all the fans to go crazy now and wishing him well and proclaiming that they won't be able to sleep without thinking that there might be a reason for him being "sick" is ridiculous! And even more ridiculous if some state that on the board! But whatever.. they can't keep me out!

Jackson sued over Bahrain deal

Jackson's lawyers said he would seek permission to testify by video link from the US.

Jackson's US spokesman Ramon Bain could not be reached for comment yesterday. Neither could 2 Seas chief executive officer Guy Holmes, the former chairman of the London-based independent record label Gut Records.

He was expected to oversee the production of the album but earlier told the BBC the deal had never been formalised with Jackson.

When the GDN attempted to contact Mr Holmes, it emerged Gut Records had gone into administration several months ago and its assets had been bought by Phoenix Music International. However, officials said the 2 Seas label had nothing to do with the company.

my question is, since he recorded I Have This Dream or From The Bottom Of My Heart for 2 Seas, why doesn't the Prince own the masters? Didn't he learn anything from Mr. Nelson?! lol

LOL yes... it is truely sick! Couple that with some pompous ass (MGT: "Now stay the hell out of my forum") on a power trip and you get MJJC! LOL! Whatever! They can't keep me down!

Wow... and I guess Mr. Holmes also joined the ranks of the evil people according to MJJC!

You're not kidding with the power trip. Remind me of one of the Five Heartbeats scenes:

"Jimmy, man, he be on some muthafuckin' power trip and shit talking about replacing people. I just wanted to show that muthafucka what TIME it was!" lol

nah, the Prince said that. I do think Guy's statements contradict each other

Michael wanted to get away from it all and the Prince wanted get into the Entertainment business and saw working with Michael as a good opportunity

OH! lol Man... nevermind. lol But yeah that's how I look at it, this affected the Prince because he knew working with Mike would get him into show business. This is probably why he sued.

I dont think gettin into show biz was the main motivation for the suit.

The guy is pissed and feel used basically this MJ character comes over uses
all the hospitality he has to offer and leaves and then refuses to retrn phone calls. I think he also expected to be paid his expenses he incurred not related
to his staying there but in terms of money he gave and money used by MJ for hiring various ppl.
