It's not really about the video (it is a piece of shit), it's about the "soul" in the song itself. cool

The song is so-so too.

It would've been at least more intersting had Chaka Khan been singing in front of Dennis(who was the 1st female choice to be in the song if it weren't for dumb ass leeching Warner Bros).

Never heard of the Dennis. The song is cool. Reminds me of the SOS Band.

Siedah is a really an unsung hero. I never understood why she was always in the shadows. With her talent, she deserved to be more successfull

lol Well, Chaka didn't sing, Siedah did, Warner Bros. got their wish and the song is what it is. I like it and love the soul pouring out of both Dennis and Siedah. Not to mention, the track that went on to spawn many platinum hip hop hits.

I can't get behind the idea of Seidah Garrett as a singer. She's a writer. Although I do absolutely adore her contribution to the Brand New Heavies. I savaged her when that album first dropped but I have come to adore it and her in it mushy

She does have a beautiful voice and a wonderful gift for writing. History has shown that she has been more successful as a writer than anything else in the entertainment industry, but if she had opted to concentrate solely on a singing career she would have made it big. I think she is that talented.

Her debut album is nice nod and I love her duet with MJ.

But N'Dea WAS the undisputed diva of BNH, hands down worship

Her duet with Michael I thought was cheesy. Didn't like it.
But I do agree with you about N'Dea Davenport though. She was the shit in BNH. lol

This piece of 80's cheese wouldn't know 'soul' if it walked up to it and smacked it upside the head.

As much as I like Dennis, this is just pure SHAIT.
It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

Really? He replaced David Ruffin as lead singer of the Temptations. He sings on classics like "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone," "I Can't Get Next to You," and "Cloud Nine."

Here in Portugal they didn't play soul, R&B or hip-hop on the radio.

I get that, but I figured you'd stumbled upon the Temps by now.

What's the joke?

Some of us were only exposed to black music via Prince or Michael Jackson. That was what happened to me.

I have no shame to admit that I am not knowledgeable in all genres.

Sorry, that was my fault. I probably should've added a wink on the end. I was just giving Mike a good-natured ribbing. Sorry. sad
