perhaps a stretch to that comment.
but i really do adore this band.
i always find myself back to this band.
i recently read somewhere that the band was not happy with their early work(e.i peppermint pig, garlands,etc)

does anyone know what album cocteau twins is proud of? and what is your favorite cocteau twins album or single

mostly all of them. i am not to fond of the moon and melodies

i love blue bell knoll and heaven or las vegas.

anything before or after those albums are iffy for me, though at the time i had certain expectations for what i wanted a cocteau twins album to sound like. maybe i should go back and give the early stuff and the late stuff another chance.

i kinda feel like sigur ros is to now what cocteau twins were to the 80s. that's oversimplifying a lot, but they scratch a similar itch.

I love, love, love The Cocteau Twins. Even though I am a huge fan, I gotta agree with Anx that some of the older stuff doesn't hold up as well as some of the older stuff, but them older albums sure had some wonderful stuff on it.

Elizabeth Fraser sadly seems to be into guest appearances only. I certainly would love to see her do some new material.

Oooh, my fave album is probably Four-Calendar Cafe. It came at the right time in my life.

Heaven or Las Vegas is the only album of theirs that I've every really liked unconditionally. I've heard it said that Vicorialand was a masterpiece of its style, but I've never been able to get too comfortable with it. Most of their early material struck me as a little too messy and their later stuff a touch too glossy.

Yeah, I'm a fan though I do find myself hopping from album to album for specific favorite tracks...
Prince was checking them out for a while, their tracks used to show up in those New Power Radio shows.....

Love the Cocteau Twins. I agree that with Blue Bell Knoll, their production became more accessible without compromising their sound. But I do love their older stuff too, and agree it can be hit or miss. Plus, I found some of the older stuff that I did like was usually on an EP as opposed to an album...

If you want to get a nice compilation of their pre-Blue Bell music, I would highly recommend The Pink Opaque. I think it's OOP, but I've seen it turn up in the Used Bins...

Lullabies To Violaine is a recent compilation of their EP's. It's worth the buy.
