THE KILLERS : HUMAN [the ema '08 performance *wow*]

eek

ok, now that's the first time since ehm, i think 1995 i've
been genuinely excited watching an EMA or VMA performance.

i always thought the killers were some band i'd hate but i
had never heard anything by them lol.

great great performance. well, it's more of an art installation
than a real performance i guess.

it helps that i truly love the song on first listen. the drums
are wicked and the singer's vocals sound great.

can't wait to check out more by these guys.

That stage is epic. Wow. I think that's the best lighting, synchronization and effects technology I've seen thus far as stage engineering goes.

Maybe that was a bit harsh, but it really does not grab me. I really like their first album, though.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Even though Stuart Price produced this [and I check for all the man's work b/c I'm a fan] this is not his best material. I hear he's executive producing the rest of their new effort, so I'll still give it a chance. I'm anxious to hear it.

However, I still prefer Hot Fuss over Sam's Town.

I only know 'Hot Fuss'. I assumed 'Hot Fuss' was their first one? Is 'Sam's Town'? I love 'Hot Fuss'. Maybe I should just research them myself. lol

I heard Sam's Town in full, just wasn't into it. Hot Fuss is their debut and imho an '00s essential album. I still play songs from it to this day.

Actually, I much prefer the Stuart Price Club Mix of "Human" to the original. I like to affectionately dub it the Prince club mix since it starts out with about a minutes worth of LINN drums. Great mix.

When I listen to this song more and more, I feel the influence of The Pet Shop Boys all over it, the sound of it fits the PSB mode to a tee. I want to hear more songs before I judge the upcoming album, but I will more than likely buy it anyway. I am going to see The Killers in concert soon, I hope their show will be as good as this performance.

WOW, they threw in that shot of Echo & The Bunnymen, I can hear a lot of their influence in this song too. Bring back the 80's .

why of course,
it looks like this album is going to increase the 80s influence a notch up.
the synths are beautiful, and the melodies are sounding great.

of course, the killers are inspired by new order, echo & the bunnymen, the cure etc

great band, great music, great stuff!
roll on the album soon!

I am actually surprised that YOU like this song.....I had not seen this performance (I like the visuals, the stage is amazing) but have heard the song a lot on the radio and I absolutely loathe it!!! I'm not a Killers-fan, fist thing I heard was when the opened up for U2 in Amsterdam, trying very hard to be New Order.....and miserably failed..... I do like 'Mr Brightside' and 'When You Were Young' on record....
