Great slow jam. The bass in that song reminds me of some of the slow jams on Rick James' "Fire It Up" album. Andy is a four letter word.

Indeed!! I like it even more than Prince's own 'Parade' which was released around the same time. Oh hell, it's five times better than the "Parade" album. Mazarati's album is great but even if it was weak as hell, at least it didn't have classical and folk music on it. People had a field day making fun of "Parade" when it was first released. The artsy/fartsy folks will show up soon and start throwing rocks at me. . . . [Edited 11/14/08 14:23pm] Andy is a four letter word.

Great slow jam? who are you, and what have you done to vainandy?!!! Oh, I love a lot of slow jams. Just very few after 1984 when you-know-who started influencing a lot of people. Andy is a four letter word.

Great song, great album, BUT HIDEOUS!!!!! Cover and Artwork, and that mid-late 80s shouldapadded mulleted squiggle lettering glam princette paisley gone mad look did them no justice. 17 Years ago I made a commitment to Prince

I got your back, Andy! When that shit came out, me and all of the other funk fans I know were like "WTF?" One guy I knew who was a huge fan of Prince actually tried to agrue that "New Position" was the "new funk" and that everyone was going to start copying that style. I LMAO. I understand what Prince was doing musically but that shit was way off, even for a lot of fans at the time. It wasn't funky, definitely wasn't made for the people and it showed. Other than "Prince circles", the general public wasn't feelin' Parade much outside of "Kiss". Mazarati in my opinion had the best album of that year and the next. tane1976 said: Great song, great album, BUT HIDEOUS!!!!! He made them look like that. In 87' that look was DONE and everybody knew it. The band was not happy at all about their look but they were powerless to do anything about it. Craig would rock jeans anyway.

Man,I'm so glad that somebody else agrees with me I've never been all that impressed with 'Parade'.It doesn't even feel like a real, cohesive album...it's more like a bunch of ideas and experiments that don't really flow together. And aside from "Kiss",there's hardly any funk on it."New Position" is over before it begins. This is why I apppreciate the Mazarati album. It contains all the first-rate funk that 'Parade' is lacking.
