After hearing he's being forced to perform?

I don't think we will get a good quality tour, a good new album or anything again and I have to accept it and move on now.

If he truly doesn't want to have a career and be committed, it's not going to happen for him. If he doesn't give it energy, it will not result in coming back to him. He was being fake about promoting new music in the studio on the news, he genuinely doesn't care anymore but wants to hang onto fans which is why he does shi.t like that. He needs to come clean and just retire, it's better than leaving people hanging and bringing on negative press.

I will always enjoy his music, but now he's finished for real. He's unfortunately nothing like Madonna who can balance family life and career and won't be anytime sooner. I don't see him going out of his way to compete with his peers like he would have before, or letting the new music speak for itself and going out of his way to get it out there like Janet did, even if she's not doing well now. At least she tried and I give her that. And Prince, he really doesn't care who he pisses off, bottom line is, he's still doing what he loves cause he wants to, and if he were to retire, he would let fans know instead of leaving them hanging after forming good rapport with the diehards.

I don't have given up on him. After I saw the recent picture I have hope he has teh energy to have a come back...
Of course we will argue over his new songs and most of us will say his best work he did with Quincy Jones etc... and how good he used to look...
And the sales can't be compared to his previous albums...

But I still enjoy new Michael Jackson music... and I'm sure there will be...

It always take him ages to come up with new music, so I´ll be waiting. I don´t think he will retire competely. i don t think he could imagine doing nothing for the rest of his life. There will always be rumours and speculations. I have not given up on him. When he´s ready, he´s ready. I don´t wanna make concusions about things that have not happened yet. Basically I agree with graecophilos.

I haven't given up on him as such, but I realise that, unless something big changes, chances of us getting anything new from him at this point are slim to none.

I continue to hope, but I recognise that it's more wistful thinking than anything else. I don't mind, I'm very happy with what he's already given us. The most important thing for MJ to do now is to be happy. If that means releasing new material and/or performing again, great, but if not, that's okay too.

I'm not one of those. He just acts like a tortoise when it comes to releasing new records.

I don't really care if Mike releases a new record I'm living life. If he releases one it's cool and I'll check it out ofcourse if not oh well. There's so many more artists I listen to plus you already have the released songs.

I will not give up on him, sooner or later he will release new material, and there is nothing that we can do about it, thats a part of being an MJ fan,you have to wait, 5 years a gap between thriller and Bad, and 4 years from Bad to Dangerous , Mj has always used this Technique in releasing albums .

After I was disappointed by Invincible, I spent the years since then focusing on the individual Motown albums or The Jacksons group stuff on Epic.

I avoided some of those albums for years because I read biographies that said they were commercial flops, but actually the music is quite good.

I'm not sure what fans expect from MJ. He's been in the business his whole life. He has given us more than enough music. Michael is not like Prince who usually makes albums every year(which are not always good BTW).

Quality over Quanity. We could actually debate on here all day about the albums he HAS released and how much better they were than some of these artists that release albums every year or so.

I wrote him off way back in 1997. In the eleven years since then I have seen nothing to make me change my mind.

This should be interesting to see.When he makes his comeback next year, all of those who doubted him will be the first ones on the bandwagon. I, for one, am not giving up hope.
