Christina Aguilera Looks Forward to “Futuristic” New Album Link Christina Aguilera is closing the year looking forward and looking back. As she prepares to release her first greatest hits package, the singer is planning a new album she describes as “futuristic,” with collaborations with the forward-looking Sia, Goldfrapp and Ladytron. “There’s no holds barred for anything,” Aguilera says. “It’s really the future and can go anywhere. It’s exciting to challenge myself in that way and explore.” She expects to enter the studio in January with Sia, the eclectic Australian pop singer and sometime collaborator with the atmospheric group Zero 7. “Her voice has a really cool sound to it. It’s really gritty and unique,” says Aguilera. “I’m not exactly sure what we’re going to get when we go into a studio together. There’s probably magic to be had.” Until then, fans can hear two new Aguilera songs on Keeps Gettin’ Better — A Decade of Hits, which is being released exclusively through Target stores and Target.com. The new tracks — “Keeps Gettin’ Better” and “Dynamite” — are joined by updated re-recordings of the hits “Genie in a Bottle” and an electronic-flavored “Beautiful.” It marks a dramatic shift from 2006’s retro Back to Basics album, which focused on more of a blues, jazz, and soul vibe. “I feel fortunate enough at 27 years old to be release a greatest hits record, and I’m very proud of the work that I’ve been able to do, and all the changes that I’ve made both visually and musically over the years,” Aguilera says, noting that she’s still “not really able to wrap my head around it. I’ve just begun my career.” She has also kept busy with a new baby and involvement with Rock the Vote, which featured a get-out-the-vote PSA with Aguilera and her son, Max, swaddled in an American flag. But her career remains in full-swing, without apology. In the song “Keeps Gettin’ Better,” she openly refers to herself as both a “super-girl” and a “super-bitch.” “I’m running a business,” she says, “and sometimes being the boss of your own empire and creation, you have to be assertive. Being a female, that comes with being labeled a ‘bitch’ and given titles that men wouldn’t receive. But if that’s what I’m going to be called by being assertive and knowing who I am and what I want out of life, so be it. I wear that label proudly.”

No I heard she lacks tact and respect, and is actually a bitch.
Anyway, all that matters is the music, which has been getting more interesting since she started.

It's funny, cause I was thinking that Britney should try to collaborate with Ladytron or Goldfrap as well.
Let's face it, the girls in Ladytron can't really sing. They're voices are exceptionally weak and lack range. HOWEVER, the production and style of the music doesn't require nice voices. THe human voice just becomes one in a series of instruments being used, and doesn't need to be the "Star" of the production. Britney would be perfect for that. The remixes of "Gimme More" designed for the dancefloor are actually pretty hot...for that type of music. I'm willing to be Christina will either overpower the production, or we'll hear something really different.

If by futuristic she means electronic, then I am not that excited about it. But I did enjoy her last two albums, so we´ll see. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

her "bitch" comment reminds me of something that Madonna said in 1985...

For the record Lady GaGa is biting off Dale Bozzio and the Missing Persons, her new video is IDENTICAL to the Missing Persons 1984 video for the song "right now" same camera shots and all, so im not really sure where Lady GaGa got this "original" title from. The video for Poker Face has the same beach shots that the missing persons had, they both are adapting from something already done, shes cool but she aint anything new and original, shes a cross between Teri Nunn of Berlin who everyone from Madonna to Gwen Stefani has BIT off big time. And for the record Christinas new video is biting more off of Cheryl Tweedy from Girls Aloud and the Something Kinda OOh video, the car shots, the wink the lighting same exact stuff. I'm excited to see her going in a different direction on yet another album. She seems to really appreciate all types of music which I think is an outstanding quality that all artists should possess. Her greatest hits compilation makes even more sense to me now, because she has them in order from debut to now with 2 new singles and 2 remixes as the last 4 songs on the disc. Listening to the greatest hits album makes me see how much she has progressed with her music. Most artists are content with remaining in one genre with one basic sound for the bulk of their careers.
Christina went from Disney, "Reflection", to bubblegum pop on her debut album, "Christina Aguilera", to a whole Spanish album of her debut with additional songs, "Mi Reflejo", to a classic remake, "Lady Marmalade", to edgy pop with rock and hip-hop elements throughout, "Stripped", to jazz and blues, "Back To Basics", all in a decade. Now she wants to do what she calls 'futuristic', which is probably just electronica, but is a new sound for her. That's a great deal of growth by any artist's standards. It's just nice to see her not being as bitchy as she used to be though. I used to hate when she would talk shit about other people, like Kelly Osbourne and Mariah. Maybe motherhood has changed her a bit. Prince Rogers Nelson

Hey some see it some dont, funny thing, LaDy GaGa in an interview with Q magazine cited MP as one of her influences, along with Blondie, so, i guess she sees it. And I don't think anyone said Gaga was original, just that Xtina is SO OBVIOUSLY copying her.
