i mentioned to my friend earlier mine seems not to be working and she reacted by saying i was the only 20yr old she knew who owned one

is it that unusual? i know loads of people who have bought prince/michael jackson records etc who are my age surely people wouldnt buy records if they dont have something to play them on confused

wasnt sure where to put this but i decided on this section if it is wrong could someone delete it or shove it in the right place

I own one. Its nothing special (JVC), but equipped with my good hi-fi, it does the job. Just be careful with those record needles, as those things ain't cheap confused

My CD player is of better quality and is much more important to me.

oh yeah. I've spent some good time over the last year searching for albums not released in any other format. I bought a Numark record player with a USB output about a year ago.

Mp3's of vinyl records from the 70's have a richer sound than some of my CD's from the 90's.

That's why when I was shopping for my turntables over the internet back in 2001, I made sure that I got a brand in which I could afford to replace the needle. Back then, the needle was $25. I don't know how much one is now because I've never had to buy one yet.

i know, i had a great technics then i got a vintage B&O receiver and decided i needed the turntable too. at that time the needles weren't much like 80.00 to 120.00 US. then B&O quit making them and another place took up producing them and the cost went up. I've had my B&O for about 10 years now. I recently broke the diamond tip off when it accidentally scraped the platform itself pissed
