I listened to the entire Sasha Fierce album....Janet Jackson Prime? Beyoncé doesn't even compare to Janet now. "20 YO" is a better album (and "Disciplince" a much better album). It was late when I was listening...shocked I didn't fall asleep!

While Janet can't sing & Beyonce undoubtedly blows her away voice-wise, I like so many more songs by Janet than I do Bey. In fact, I'm sure I like 5-7 Beyonce/Destiny's Child songs while I like a good 30 songs by Janet, maybe more...

Yes, her career is longer so she's had more time, but I think her albums have been more appealing to me on a whole...

Janet's catalogue is better than Beyonce's because music generally was better in those days, and Janet had a better team around her. But in terms of raw talent I'm sorry to tell you guys that Beyonce walks all over Janet. A lot of you dismiss the lip synching as insignificant, but if you're talking about TALENT then it has to be considered. Beyonce smokes her vocally. Also, Beyonce can own a stage without the aid of choreographers. Janet cannot.

However, I totally agree with JackieBlue that Beyonce is too aggressive and lacking in grace. There's almost a clumsiness to her sometimes. Whenever I watch her perform I'm always like "Yeah, but.....".

Ultimately though, I feel you could easily find a dancer with a half-way decent voice, put a good team around her and she could do what Janet does and you wouldn't even notice the difference. Hell, they already did that twice. First one was called Paula Abdul, the second was called Britney Spears. Only difference was the A&R men gave them more of a pop sound.

So to sum up, Janet Jackson was a better PRODUCT than Beyonce. But Beyonce is a more talented INDIVIDUAL than Janet.

I don't think everyone will put out a video like Rhythm Nation and a socially conscious album. Beyonce has put out music that talks to women and so has Janet. I do agree that vocally Beyonce blows Janet away and puts on a great show though I prefer listening to Janet often cause she has much better songs.

I think they are tied on looks, particularly since Janet had plastic surgery, for sure. Maybe Beyonce did, too? But to me.. looks cannot be fairly judged if one or both have had surgery.

However, I do like Janet's videos better than Beyonce's. I do like Janet's songs better than Beyonce's even though Beyonce's voice might be more of an "instrument." I also think Janet might dance better than Beyonce because what I have seen Janet's choreography is more intricate and choreographed?

So... I prefer Janet over Beyonce even though Beyonce is talented, too.

Now I like Mariah better than Janet! But then.. I lean more toward "singers" than music/dance artists. I like Christina Aguilera, too! There are some I like though, and I like Janet.. Well.. the last Janet cd I really liked was All4You. I like Janet's older stuff.

I'll say that Janet is the better dancer, and had a good production team. Beyonce is the better singer. Both are attractive and I have to say that both have went under the knife. Janet is attractive in a sexy, but tomboyish way and Beyonce is attractive in a sexy, but Tina Turner style. She needs to tone down the ego and less is more because she has become overrated.
