I'm very disappointed to hear it's just going to be Thriller, as much as I love that album.

I don't understand why he can't do something unplugged full of underrated songs presented in a different way, with live instruments, live singing and minimal dancing.

Why are you talking about this as if it's true?

This rumour has been doing the round for years now. I smell BS yet again.

lol

It's always bullshit. Michael never wants us to know what he's doing. I don't even think he'll take it anyway.

Someone needs to be frank with him and tell him to his face what fans want and what the general public wants, cause it's not the same thing. The general public wants OTW, Thriller and J5. The fans (at least me) wants underrated songs performed that were not really single releases or as popular in North America, unplugged. How nice would it be if he did a setlist that included I Can't Help It with special guest Stevie Wonder, Liberian Girl, Whatever Happens, Lady In My Life, Baby Be Mine, Push Me Away, Bless His Soul, Man of War, Time Waits For No One, Butterflies, Someone Put Your Hand Out, Monkey Business, For All Time, etc.

I wish he was more like Prince and gave everyone a big f.uck you and performed his underrated material. I can tell he's not into music anymore at all though, I don't think it's even crossed his mind to perform new material. And yes, I believe the access hollywood interview with will.i.am was staged, as was beautiful girl with geraldo, he is full of shi.t! Love all his music but treat him as an oldies act now cause he's allowed it to happen. I even wore an mj t shirt to an old school jam and my friends thought it was hilarious and awesome, asked me if I was hiding that at home and we all laughed about it, everyone loves old mj! But that doesn't mean I want to see him perform only thriller stuff like a dried up zombie, I love all his other stuff too and it's going to waste. HIStory era mj would fight to get the new stuff out there and not give a damn, but he's long gone now.

It seems that he is. But we have to remember it's "Thriller" that the general public remembers mostly. They remember some of "Off the Wall" and some of the J5/Jacksons material. But mainly they focus on "Thriller" and when Michael released follow-up albums, they always compared it to what he did with "Thriller", which while musically sounding different, did follow on similar paths, which is why people keep referring to him as a flop even if one of his albums sold 20 million. MJ gets the brunt of nostalgia criticism because technically, alongside Madonna, Prince, Tina Turner, George Michael & Wham!, Duran Duran, Culture Club and, yes, Phil Collins, he WAS the 1980s.

those who remember Bad, Dangerous, HIStory era etc. singles are those who were old enough to experience though eras when they were happening, it's taking a little bit longer for the ones who aren't into music or that are very young to catch on. A lot of kids and teens know billie jean, abc and thriller and most likely think they are awesome, but aren't aware there's even better material out there. I liked those songs too as a kid but didn't really become a fan until I started buying the CD's as a kid and ended up loving everything else.

Preach!

But you know who does he trust? Did you know Bob Jones his former Public Relations handler died?

But they had a serious falling out. I don't know who to believe but to tell you the truth Bob Jones said some very damaging things about Michael Jackson's credibility in his book (The Man Behind the Mask) but he hardly addressed the legal woes Michael Jackson was in considering the little boy fiasco.

I would attend a concert if he did his underrated songs otherwise I AM NOT interested in hearing Billie Jean, Thriller, etc. I am beyond that at this point in my life!
Be glad and rejoice for the Lord has done marvelous things!

I keep saying over and over that MJ should do an acoustic tour.Put together a terrific new band, strip it down, and get out there and thrill audiences! He could play alot of rare songs that he never plays..."I Can't Help It","Whatever Happens","Maybe Tomorrow".Get Stevie Wonder and Carlos Santana to join him onstage in the major cities.Do a show that's focused more on the actual SONGS.Besides,he seems so frail these days.I doubt that he could do alot of dancing anyway.

I would love for him to tame his show down and have an acoustic type setting. He should do what Janet did and have a hotline open for fans to really state what they want to see him perform.

LOL! He's been incognito since "Thriller" so it'll be impossible for him to do that. lol

he's going to have to please the general public and not hardcore fans if he's going to do 30shows in one spot... cause the hardcore aren't going to be able to afford to pay the bills.
