Why Wasn't This A Bigger Hit???

This sounds like something he might have written. Did he?

It's the song I can say really grabbed me during those post-Thriller years.

Yes I love it too, I'm pretty sure it was a big hit in Australia. It's one of the few songs I knew of his before I became a fan. And I'm not one to say how hot he is, but he really did look good in the Brazil version of this filmclip. I loved the short curly hair on him. It made him look....normal.

The single was released in the states, but I don't recall anyone playing it. It's one of those MJ songs where it will always remain relevant (lyrically).

Tom Joyner recently played this prior to the election. He mixed in comments from both Barak and McCain as well as news reports. Very moving.

You cant really call your self a michael jackson if you dont remember the controversy about the song when it first came out, the michael being anti semetic stuff cause of the lines "jew me sue me everybody do me kick me kike me don't you black or white me" I thought it was hilarious that he was a jew hating pedophile (j/k, I don't think mike is either of those things)

The controversy occurred when the album first came out. The song wasn't released as a single until (almost) a year later. I remember he did that ABC special where he went in and "re-recorded" the song because he didn't want to upset his fans. They even re-issued the cd with the edited version of the song.

My thoughts exactly! (Except I often think he looks hot, but during that video especially!)

curioso

It hit no 1 in a few countries and top 10 in many.
My favourite song on HIStory.

Scream pretty much put all the other songs/videos from that album to shame, even though this song is one of the best on the album.

The Scream video was great. I guess after they spent such a big budget on that video, they went average cost on the other videos (not a bad thing, though). I love the cinematography for "You Are Not Alone".

Powerful song. I dig this version of the video and Spike Lee directed both of them.

Also known as the banned version.
