Tutting was throughout the big dance routine. That whole routine had so many different dance styles in it, which is probably why I like it soo much.

Give it up to Fatima Robinson for that. smile

Fatima was doing soo many videos back in the day. I remember when she was the Backstreet Boys choreographer and how she said it was really hard in the beginning with them because some were better dancers than others. lol I haven't heard much from her in a while. She was one of the ones who was supposed to be on board with Aaliyah that fateful day, but she didn't go.

If you didn't know, Shalamar's Jeffrey Daniels taught him the "Smooth Criminal" moves including that infamous lean. smile

Love the smooth criminal moves! Actually recently in my music industry class we were talking about patents and this came up, and the special shoes to do that lean are patented by MJ http://en.wikipedia.org/w...patent.png

Janet has good choreography, but even so, she is NOWHERE near Michael's level. You see people doing the moonwalk and imitating his other moves, but you don't see ANYONE doing any "Janet" moves. This is not even close.

Doo you know how many people do the "If" breakdown and the "Miss You much" and "Alright" chorus and the "5, 4, 3, 2, 1" in RN and all the shit in Pleasure Principle???

I do Janet moves! I love that move she does in the If video during the instrumental break...so cool

Plus, Janet is totally incapable of freestyling, whereas Mike is an expert at that. Janet is a puppet who is completely dependent on choreographers to make her dancing look good.

LiquidGold, the number of people who do those moves in Janet's video are so small compared to the people who moonwalk, etc. It's not even in the same ballpark. That argument is silly. Only hard-core Janet fans do those moves.

Imago

Michael.

Janet is just following predefined steps and often looks no more impressive than Britney Spears.

MJ doesn't even need all the backup dancers around him. He's proven he can whip the crowd into a frenzy AND look impressive on his own on stage. Although his brand of dancing is theatrical (I could never see MJ freaking you on the dancefloor), it's still impressive.

Michael didn't create the moonwalk, just so you know. People were doing that shit way before. The rest of Michael's moves are copied so much because he's been doing exactly the same signature moves for 25 years. It's easy to perfect. Michael could barely keep up in the choreography for Scream

Well he is 8 years older. But even still I think he kept up perfectly and even looked better than Janet. If anything it shows how much of a better, more natural dancer he is. He does it seemlessly, Janet's just not as natural, you can tell it took her a while to get the dance downpat.

LiquidGold, no offence intended, but the majority opinion is that Michael is quite CLEARLY the better dancer, unless you are so easily impressed with Janet's puppet-moves....Plus, ask ANY dancer who the better dancer is. None of them are going to say Janet. But, you are entitled to your opinion.

I'm a trained dancer and that's my opinion. No need for you to try to offend my opinion, with your false "no offense" remark. Are you that crazy that you can't respect a difference of opinion???

nod Speaking in terms of freestyling, Michael is definitely the winner of the two. I will say that I've always been amazed at the fact that neither of them ever took dancing lessons like most of the dancers in their videos and tours were trained. Just natural born dancers.
