Forgotten Roberta Flack song-Just When I Needed you From the Richard Pryor flick "Bustin' Loose".
Loved this song as a child. Bustin' Loose was one of my favorite movies back then! Luther Vandross guests from the intro and throughout the song! [Edited 11/4/08 15:21pm]

I think it's a great Roberta Flack album even if it is a soundtrack. She covers Luther's "You Stopped Loving Me" and "Love (Always Commands)" is beautiful. Plus it guests Luther Vandross and Peabo Bryson sings a tribue to Donny Hathaway, "Song for D". I would LOVE to have this on CD. Poor long lost deleted LP... [Edited 11/4/08 15:42pm]

This is one of my favorite movies and I loved this song. Soundtracks were so fulfulling back then. I didn't know Luther sang on this...even though it's not surprising.

there's another song from this soundtrack that I love.... when R.Pryor is about to leave Cicily Tyson in the end, there's a beautiful instrumental ballad playing in the background .. it's georgous.. sorry, don't know the name of it, but it's beautiful..

I think it's Love (Always Commands). The movie does not have the Roberta Flack vocals but plays the instrumental throughout. I would have to watch it again. Beautiful song. [Edited 11/5/08 6:00am]

Yes, about Luther. The version on the album is more embellished than the movie version. The movie version when they're driving in the bus does not have Luther in it and the music is a little different.
