Far enough back to escape the clutches of her magic lasso tendons. Have fun...

i lost count. she led us in a chant for Obama after we did Express Yourself together. It was annoucned he won 20 mins before the show started. That was part of the reason she was so happy.

We left for Petco Park at 5 because we'd fine out there if we made for the meet n greet, as we were walking up to the stadium she was finishing up her sound check. Even though we didn't make it for the meetn greet, which is good because I don't really want to meet her bacause it will spoil my fantasy it was cool to experience the sound check. The show was slated for a 730 start, which meant the gates would open soon. I was a bit worried because according to the people I know in LiveNation the San Diego show came close to being cancelled. The problem was the Catwalk. Since it went into the field the Padres were saying no and I guess Madonna was threating to pull out. Well we know who has the bigger balls. The catwalk was in place and the show would go on. On the edge of the catwalk they were setting up the turntables for Paul Oakenfield. Not a very spectacular set from him. 20 mins before the show started work broke that Obama would be President.

At 9 o'clock the lights went out the video screens went on and the Sticky and Sweet San Diego show was on. When Madge came up for Candy Shop was grinning from ear to ear. Through the course of the night we made several mentions to how happy she was tonight for the election of Obama. Candy Shop was the same thing she did on the promotour and not much new. The Beat Goes On was next with Pherral and Kayna on the projection. I was standing in a group of lesbians and straight people and I could tell they weren't familar with the new songs but I was having a good time. Human Nature I thought was a great new arrangement and the Britney Spears video that went with it was great. She shouted serveral times how happy she was singing this. Than we It's Britney Bitch was played I lost it. Vogue was HOT! The mix of Die Another Day for the interlude was great. The dancers doing the boxing on stage was cool and I loved the Madonna boxing vidoe.

Keith Haring drawing started appearing on the screen and a great 80s inspired hiphop arrangement started and Madonna started Into the Groove with some jump rope, double dutch and pole dancing. the mixing in of Jump while she was double dutching was unexpected and a nice touch. I did think it went on a bit long but was enjoyable none the less. She followed that with a very creative and highlight cherography for Heartbeat. I haven't seen her do this much dancing on a tour in a long time. The John Jet inspired version of Borderline was fun and I know people knock her palying guitar but she was doing a pretty good job I thought. She's Not Me was all right in the begining and in the chatting at the start i noticed that she had lost the faux British accent and was sounding like her normal Detorit self.. At the bridge when she walked down the catwalk and the 4 Madonna popped up all of sudden the show was more interesting. There was Like Vigin, Material Girl, Open Your Heart and Express Yourself Madonna on stage and I luved the interaction. There I thought the set was over and over the loudspeakers came Madonna's voice singing "Last night a dj saved my life" and Tim and I started jumping up and down because we knew Music was next. I didn't think she could top the Confessions tour version of the song but this won was fun, the mix was great and the dancing was great too. This set finished with an intervideo done to a mash up of Rain/Here Comes the Rain Again.

The Devil Wouldn't Recongize You was my second favorite performace. It was simple and dramatic and the first use of the video cone in the show. Even though I don't like Spanish Lesson, it was a cute little performace though and Miles Away was good too. I was a bit dissappointed in the next song. It was basically the same performace from Live Earth which was a slightly alterd version of the Confessions Tour mix of La Isla Bonita, however I do like the gypsy elements to it. Her voice was near flawless for You Must Love Me it was the only track Jim didn't know but that's because he never saw all of Evita. With the election results known the Get Stupid interlude was even more fun to watch.

4 Mins was the same as the promotour and I still don't like it. The best song of the night was next. Like A Prayer the names of God, sayings in hebrew aramaic greek chinese japanese english phrases from the bible koran vedas zohar talmud were all flashing to the amazing deep house mix of the song and the disappearing behind the fire on the video cone was breathtaking. Next little let down was the redux of the Confession mix of Ray of Light. She made up for it though when not once, not twice but three times forgot the words to the song and even fessed up to her mistake in the middle of the song was because she was so happy. Afterwards she claimed it was the request section of the show but since she was so happy she was going to go ahead and decide for us and we sang along to Express Yourself which ended in chants of We are one and OBAMA. Even though I didn't like the promotour hard rock version of Hung Up it was better in person. The show ended with a high engery version of Give to Me. Game Over popped on the screens and the crowd exited to Holiday.

All in all I think this was the best Madonna show I've seen. Both ReInvention and Confession I think got bogged down ReInvention in the aucoustic set and Confessions in the Confession set. This one maybe had one or two songs that were mood killers but the show was fun and fast paced.

Glad you enjoyed it lol It's such a fun show, isn't it? There weren't alot of dramatic themes or any kind of storyline....it's just Madonna having fun and inviting us along for the ride.

Bring on the DVD! lol
