I heard some reports saying that the roof had fallen in at the venue. If the venue is in that bad of shape, than I wouldn't have blamed her is she had cancelled. What if the roof had caved in while she was on stage? Lots of people, including her, could have been killed. Oh well, I guess it's nice to see that she has soo much trust in the people who superglued and duct taped the ceiling back on just hours before she took the stage, but quickly repaired structural damage with lots of loud music not helping much isn't something to risk your life over just to keep from losing money...err, I mean, disappoint your fans. nod

well they have a few days to fix that stage.

But it was the roof that fell down onto the stage according to reports, so just a few days for such an extreme form of structural damage doesn't seem sound to me. If a roof on a small house caves in, weeks to months worth of repair will be needed to ensure totally safety, and this was no tiny roof consisting of just some wooden beams, insulation, and sheetrock. For a venue of that size, I would hope steel beams were present in it's structure, but maybe they weren't and that's why it fell down. shrug Glad to see that nothing collapsed while the show was going on.

i'm not certain what happened. but she travels the world with 3 stage setups. one is going up one is being performed on and one is being taken down. i think it takes 2 days to load one in and one day to load one out.

i'm sure in the process of loading out they can make repairs.

I think it was more the venue's fault than Madonna's stage set-up crew, if the roof was messed up. The lighting and some stage props were not working, but that's not as big of a deal when it comes to roofing problems.

it was an outdoor venue so it's the roof of the stage itself is it not?

hmmm From the way they were saying it, it seemed like it was a part of the actual venue, but I have no idea. Does she normally have a roof built on her other shows or is she just renting a space with the four walls and roof already intact and she just builds a stage? It just seems weird to me that she would build a large roof just for one show.

in San Diego they built the whole thing, stage, walls, roof and all.

where the white spot lights are shining from is the roof that was part of Madonna's set up.

eek Whoa, that's crazy. No wonder she charges soo much for her tickets. When you have to build that much of a stage, it's pretty costly. Is she against just renting a venue with a roof and four walls already intact, or is her stage really just that ginormous?

i think it's industry standard because everyone has a different set up for rigging, also when playing a stadium a roof isn't normally there.

She definitely has a very impressive setup there. When I went to the Musicology show 4 years ago, it was just an arena and all Prince had to set up was the round stage. When he did the Superbowl, it was in a stadium and he just had the prince stage and no roof, and the added coolness of rain lol , yet tons of lighting from all the side walls of the stadium and the high lights, so I guess that's what I was thinking about. Madonna said, "Don't stop clapping!" lol That was cute and everybody looked like they were having a great time. nod
