Scott Weiland is the Zelig of Modern Rock

Here's the grunge-era health nut's video for his new song, "Paralysis":

Can David Bowie sue him? Or maybe just rough him up a little? Can't Weiland go back to just trying to sing like Eddie Vedder and Alice in Chains?

The first STP album is the only one I can listen to. And I haven't listened to it in over ten years.

Really? I think the second one is the best. Still, I absolutely love STP and Scott Weiland. Everyone claimed they were copying, but it doesn't matter to me since they were so much better than Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. Best grunge band by far IMO.

well, i knew you thought i believed heroin was healthy and there were issues over the meaning of "zelig". beyond that, i had no idea what you thought about the actual content of this thread.

i need to hold on to something. i'm getting vertigo.

the weirdest part is his voice sounds like bowie NOW. that would be impressive if it wasn't vocal forgery. he's like the rich little of alternative music. there. that should have been the thread title. but then i'd get all the young'uns, "who's rich little? is he some old timey person? and who's david BOOO-ee?" dead

he's one of those people who, at first, when someone doesn't know who he is, i'm like "how do you not know who rich little is?" then i realize the person i'm talking to is probably too young even to know who gallagher is. sigh

The kids would pronounce it like Avril and say David BOU-Wee.

Ugh. "Interstate Love Song" was one of the most overplayed songs EVER. I can't hear that again. I just can't.

I liked the silliness of the first album. They sounded like a heavy metal Pearl Jam--which at the time was what I wanted believe it or not. I never thought regular Pearl Jam delivered enough back then.

It was "overplayed" because it's such a great song. It's the best song to come out of the grunge movement.

I liked the silliness of the first album. They sounded like a heavy metal Pearl Jam--which at the time was what I wanted believe it or not. I never thought regular Pearl Jam delivered enough back then.

Well, we can agree on that. I've never really been a PJ fan outside of a few songs here and there.

I think it's more the Brits who pronounce it Buoy. I've heard Boy George say it that way on many occasions. Buoy George.
