Ghosts is nowhere near as good as Thriller for me. Thriller is sexy...the song, the video, and Michael. It's genius in its simplicity. Even the dance moves are simple to mimic. And that is what makes it classic.

With Ghosts, as with everything post-Thriller for Michael, he tries too hard. It has some good moments...but mostly it's boring. Thriller doesn't bore me at all and I've seen it I don't know how many times.

I do like the dance scene from Ghosts, though. But, that's all I'll watch. I'm not interested in his messages or trying to understand him as a person...I just want to hear good music. Good music.

I thought I liked this at first but really, it's just a chance for him to stroke his ego even more.

All the allusions to doing "that cool thing" for the kids, who are ALL MALE, just made me feel uncomfortable. Same with when he does a jerk off motion with his hand.

There's no need to shove your "SCANDALS!" in peoples faces like that.

The choreography is pretty boring, too stiff.

And for god's sake MJ, STFU with the "HOOOOO!"

err

Oh, don't even get me started on "Ghosts". I absolutely love and adore that video. Too bad more people don't know about it. It is truly one of the best things Michael has ever done.

You are so smart. You are one of the 3-4 people on the org, who whenever you post in a thread - I'd say 99.4% of the time, you post my thoughts exactly.
So at the risk of what sounding like too much of a Michael Jackson drone - let me just say

I actually recorded it when it aired on VH1, thinking it was going to be similar to "Thriller". I recorded (anything on TV) over the tape immediately afterwards just to make sure that I never played that tape by mistake in front of someone. lol

I haven't watched VH-1 in years but I remember a few years ago, they used to show "Ghosts" around Halloween.I wonder if they're showing it this year?

I think Michael's acting is pretty good in "Ghosts".He seems much more confident and relaxed than he has in previous videos/mini-movies.I was pleasantly surprised.

I think he was funny when he kept shouting "anyone wanna play games? HELLO! Game time!" lol

But of course this is a "ghoulish video". An attempt to outdo "Thriller", lol. That's all I saw: as "an attempt to outdo Thriller".

I couldn't disagree more. But that's just me.

It would be kinda easy to say it was just a remake of Thriller, but I always thought the horror theme was just a surface, the point of this video was far more deeper. I actually thought it was kinda obvious.

I don't think MJ would be dumb enough to try to top the video that made him an icon...

He's always been fascinated with ghosts and since he had the money to do anything back then, he did it.

Anyway, it doesn't come close to Thriller's timelessness in any way, shape or form.

actually I met some people in high school who were casual mj appreciators from far and they happened to see ghosts cause we all knew someone older than us who was a big fan and he let him watch it and this guy thought mike is the man and ghosts was amazing!!! I was surprised cause I thought this guy was totally into tupac and hard core hip hop and would think mj is a joke, but I found him to be the opposite.

Yeah, there's definitely an underlying message in this video....a point that Michael is trying to make regarding his public image and the accusations against him.

No I already checked it - it doesn't feel right that they aren't.
I have the VCD though - so I hear somewhere in USA..in at least
one household - it will be airing.

I still wish MTV was showing it today.

I'm so use to like watching it from like 4pm to 5pm - or whenever
it was on back in the day. Even though I have the VCD, it still is
always cooler to see one of yo favorite artists on TV! w00t! pumpkin
